I feel like shit today. I think I'm starting a sinus infection. My ear has been aching the past couple days and my nostril on that same side of running.
I have a clogged duct again and have been working on it for the past 24 hours.
I've been freezing all day and just feeling worn out, exhausted. It doesn't help that DS has such a strong mommy preference already. During the daytime, he will only sleep on me, not on dh, not in his bed. So no napping for me.
Between the clogged duct and the cold feeling and malaise, I took my temperature. Only 99.9 so far but I'll be keeping an eye on it and continue working on this clog.
I used instacart for our groceries this week and it was amazing. I forgot how lovely it is to have someone shop for you. I'm feeling a bit better but still so out of it.
We are all watching the Little League World Series while DS is taking a nap. There was what we thought was a bad call - the outfielder for Mexico caught a ball but dropped it on the transfer so it was ruled not a catch (my family is very into baseball, kid took some steps after the catch before dropping so it should have been an out).
Huh, I did not know that steps counted. I have always only heard the transfer rule. Still that is hard.
I don't know why the transfer rule exists other than to make snowcone catches unambiguous.

I can't believe there's a book called "The Joy of Tidying" that anyone actually reads.
While I kind of agree with you, I once read "Getting Things Done" and it changed my life. Maybe I could get into tidying too if I weren't so damn lazy around the house.
Getting Things Done is amazing. I feel like half of Agile is just trying to reinvent Getting Things Done, and doing so poorly.
But I think "The Catharsis of Tidying" would be a better title. It ain't joyful
So we moved to Manhattan on Thursday. H is bemoaning moving away from all our favorite brooklyn food spots. He just wondered if we'd be able to find anything good on Seamless in our new neighborhood, lollollol. There's only about a billion great places to chose from here.

I'm seriously considering putting A to bed about 30 minutes early. H has been gone since noon, she didn't nap, she was a disaster during pictures and I am exhausted. All I want to do is order pizza and watch Netflix. MOTY!

Do it.
I'm embarrassed how often DS has gone to bed early the last few weeks but I needed to retain a teensy bit of sanity.
1:00 pm is an unusual time to have a first birthday, right? I'm an asshole, but I used D's nap time as an excuse not to go, but really that would kill his entire nap, and although he's normally flexible, he has to have at least a little sleep to be functional for the rest of the day. (Holy run-on sentence).
We had DS's 1st birthday party at 1. Why is this weird? I wanted to serve my family lunch, but also wanted DS to get a nap in before they arrived. Earlier in the day would have killed all chance for a nap and later would have included the possibility of a late day meltdown. Middle of the afternoon (2 or 3) is very clearly "I'm not serving a meal" territory, which would have been an offense to everyone to whom I am related (and isn't my thing).

Eat raw garlic! Maybe it's just a coincidence, but after having mastitis twice, I did this a couple of other times when I had a clogged duct and felt chills coming on and it didn't end up turning into mastitis. And, of course, clear the clog.

niq - I know you've mentioned being from Atlanta. Did you grow up there? I did, and remember going to Braves games at Fulton County Stadium. Ahh memories! We didn't have cable growing up, but when we moved to MD, we finally got cable so that we could watch the Beaves games on TBS. We also had a dog my brother named Chipper after Chipper Jones.
Today DD is having two girls over to celebrate her bday. It's princess themed. It's about to get princess crazy up in here!
For DD1 this year I took her and two friends to the movies and did a small popcorn/movie themed gift bag. So much better than the big class parties and she loved it.
It was really great!! It was just like a play date, but with pizza, cake and costumes! They had a great time just free playing. Love it

Um, in our house, no nap = one hour earlier to bed!
