Any recs on organization for dress-up stuff? I'm thinking about getting DD an organizer and costumes for Christmas. I am looking at this one by Guidecraft. I was hoping to spend a little less but I like that it is compact, spins, has mirrors, and has lots of storage. I think pegs might also be more likely to be used by DD than hangers?
We have a little alcove in the corner of our playroom. I hung a tension rod up and just hung the dress up clothes on regular kid hangers. I put her purses on shower curtain rings and then hung those on the rod. There's a basket underneath for shoes/wands/scarves. Next to it is one of those kid basket sorters (the wood shelf with dowels and all the colored baskets everyone has..ha) and it's full of her fake makeup, her necklaces, "jewelry" blah blah.
I then hung an old curtain panel on another tension rod in the "doorway" part. Easy dressing room. Hides all the junk. Also makes a great spot for puppet shows, car washes, pretend taking a shower and all sorts of other activities..haha.
I love it. She sees it all and knows where it goes so we rarely have mess with it. She can get it all herself so she actually plays by herself.
And the whole was FREE because I already had it all.
I like that one you posted...I plan to ask FIL to buy some sort of dress up wardrobe thingy for Christmas (he'll ask, I'm not just a greedy gift demander). I like this one better than the one I currently have on C's wish list.
