This is probably a stupid question. I am at my parents house and they have a super sweet dog who gets into everything. We were by their pool a little bit ago and the dog was near me digging. Next thing I know see her run out of this area with tall grass absolutely covered in yellow jackets. She ran over to me as I tried to shoe some away and got stung about five times. My baby wad luckily with my mom who ran towards the front of their house. The dog somehow pushed her way through a door into the house so now their house has a ton of bees buzzing around inside.
The poor dog got stung I can't even guess how many times. I called the vet who was pretty nonchalant about it and gave benadryl. The poor dog clearly is still hurting though. Has anyone else been through this before and found something that made their pet more comfortable?. She is breathing fine so I know it's probably kissy going to be an uncomfortable few days but I feel bad.
My dumb poodle mutt unrolled a wasp nest. The vet is right, but it sucks. I bathed her and put baking soda paste on each sting. I think it helped. In trying to remember if we put something topical...I don't think we did but maybe the vet can rec something.
Did you do just like a regular bath or did you do like an oatmeal bath or something special? I hadn't even thought of that but that's a good idea. She's just sitting here whimpering with bees still buzzing all around. What a nightmare!
Our dog got in to a hive of bees in the ground in our yard a few years ago and had stings on his paws. The vet had us do Benadryl too.
She got stung on her paws too. Do you remember how long it took for your dog to get back to normal? Probably a day or two right?. I hope no longer than that... The whimpering and eyes are killing me right now... She keeps licking her paws too.

We have an apple tree in our backyard that the dogs love to visit. They have been stung before many times. See above for treatment. It has taken a couple of hours to a couple of days for swelling to go down and them to feel better.

A few days I think. We noticed on a Saturday that he was limping, so we put him on crate rest thinking he had hurt himself. He was still limping on Monday morning so DH took him to the vet and the vet found the stings, so we started the Benadryl then. I think he was able to walk better by Wednesday of that week. I remember him licking his paws a lot too, but he had allergy issues so did that anyway. I hope she's feeling better soon, it's so hard because they don't understand why they're hurting
Oh, maybe a bath with aveeno oatmeal bath? Or even a paste made out of that? The soothing properties could help with the stinging. If you have an ecollar I'd try to get a paste on there to take the sting out she use the ecollar to stop her from licking it off for a little bit.
