Silly question about my daughters hair. Do you trim/cut your girls hair? My daughter has fine loose curls. Not sure if and when the texture will change. Sometimes her bed head is a little crazy and the sides stick out like a clown.
I'm not a bow or tight ponytail person. I usually just let it go wild or brush it down with a little water to tame it.
I only have boys. DS1 has similar curls. I love them! He frequently sports the messy mop of curls...unless my mom is around & brushes it. Then he sports a massive bushy, awful mound of fluff.
We did one haircut to tame the mullet a bit. I have no plans for another even though the front is in her eyes. I'm trying to let it all grow out and she's getting better about leaving clips in.
Your DD is adorable as is and I wouldn't cut it right now.

My niece's hair has a similar texture. I can't see how old your daughter is but my niece's hair got really wild and puffy a bit after 2. My sister got it trimmed to try and give it some shape, but it still needed to be in little pigtails or three "puffs" to look reasonable.
Edited to add that it looks great right now - no need to do anything.
I cut DDs shortly after 1. She has thin hair but quite a bit of it. It goes so scraggly and just grungy looking fast. It also doesn't grow very "evenly" and looks weird.
I keep it trimmed pretty regularly and she looks so much better. She's now 4 and has a totally kid appropriate inverted bob. She looks more polished even when she refuses to comb it (which is a lot) and I never have to do hair accessories which she has always hated with a burning passion.

She's so cute! DD will be 2 in a month and we haven't cut her hair yet. It is curly and has grown pretty slowly, and it's not in the way. It doesn't look like your DD's hair is in the way so I would let it be.

DD2 (22 months) had a trim at 11.5 months because she had 2 inches longer then the rest of her curls behind her ears. Other than that no. DD1 has curly hair and we didn't get it cut until she was 3 (and it was a horrible hair cut) and we don't plan on getting it cut again any time soon.
She had her first cut at 21 months and 30 months. She has fine, straight hair that has taken forever to come in. We just had a trim to even things up. At 33 months the longest part of her hair is at her shoulders and that is just a little section in the back :-)
She is adorable and has awesome hair. Since it's not in her eyes or anything, I wouldn't feel compelled to do anything with it. You can do a whale spout with one of those small clear rubber bands later if the front gets too long. DD is 3 and still hasn't had a haircut.
I think justjen's daughter has hair similar to your DD's. She may have tips.
First, she's so cute!
My solution is to use bows or rubber bands as much as possible, but L's hair is a lot longer at this point. Sometimes she just wants it down, and then it hangs in her face all day and drives me crazy
I also put a dab of my Deva gel in her hair after a bath to control things. Otherwise it frizzes out and loses some of the ringlets.
I had to cut DD's hair a few times starting at 11 months because it was getting in her eyes. This bothers EVERYONE else except me, my husband, and DD. I get so sick of hearing about it, I just cut the bangs. I did finally cut the curls off the back about a month ago. Again, they weren't bothering me but driving my mom to bitterly complain every time she babysits DD. It did "clean up" her hair and make it look neater, but I wouldn't cut your DD's hair yet since the curls start much higher and it's not in her eyes.
I would love to put bows or pig tails in DD's hair, but she pulls the bows out and refuses to sit for pig tails so there's that.

I would leave it alone, so cute! We cut DD's when it started looking a little ratty, around 1year. We really just do bang trims now and let the back grow.
My DD's hair was similar to that when she was younger. I didn't cut it until she was almost 3 and her hair was shoulder length (when wet). I just did a whale spout once it was getting in her eyes until then.
