I've wanted a set of stackable rings with each of my kids' birthstones since DS1 was tiny. I decided to wait until we were done having kids because I wanted them all to match. I almost bought them a few months ago, but I couldn't be certain if DS3 would be an August or September baby.
It's 12:30am on September 1 and I am still pregnant, so I bought them.
I got them from Helzberg. That's where H bought my engagement and wedding rings, so I'll be able to have them all under the same protection plan and get them inspected/cleaned together.
I bought a set of stacking birthstone rings from Olive Bungalow, but the center stone repeatedly fell out and I lost it The owner refused to fix it. So I bought two separate rings, one for each child. I like how they're similar faceted stones but the settings are very different.
I have sort of an opposite plan: when I was pregnant with DS, DH bought me a ring to wear because I wanted something on even though my fingers were swollen. I happened to pick out a simple gold ring with three diamonds across, and once I had it, I kind of got it in my head that the stones represented me, DH and DS.
When I put my old rings back on, I put that one away in a drawer, figuring I'd need it during my next pregnancy. Now that we're 99% OAD, though, my plan is that once we're 100% sure and do something permanent about it, I'm going to get it sized down to wear on my right hand, sort of as my "family ring". I think it will be neat to have that significance, and also be something to wear from the time that I carried DS.
That's great! I just got my ring for DS-I have stacking pandora rings for each kid. I will say that going from 2 rings to 3 feels kind of overwhelming on my finger but I love that I have all 3 now.
