How did you transition away from bottles at daycare? We are right on the fringe of getting started I think but I dunno how to best get into it. Did your daycare help? What sort of sippy cups do they allow?
Once they are transitioned did you just bring in empty cups or did you bring them with milk/formula in them from a while?
We started with a soft-spouted sippy cup at home at around 6 months. Honestly, he had NO interest in it. He would really only drink from it if we held it for him.
Daycare started working on sippy cups at about 8 months in anticipation of him moving unto the 1-y-o room (no bottles). They sent me home with one of their sippy cups, and I put BM in it for the next day. So for a few weeks I brought 2 bottles and one sippy cup of milk. When that went okay, I started sending only sippy cups (but with an empty bottle kept at daycare as a backup in case he had a bad day -- he never needed that). Then at about 11 months I ran out of breast milk so they did formula in sippy cups until he turned 1.
