DS is almost 16 months - we have been putting him in tees and shorts all summer because it is easier, and I like the way it looks better. But I am worried his back/belly will get cold this winter if his shirts ride up.
When did you stop putting your kid in onesies? Is DS going to look like a dork at daycare if he wears them this winter?
We still have some in her 12-18m wardrobe (but haven't been using them much this summer) and a few for basic layering in her 18-24m wardrobe. I anticipate using them under jumpers or under her Halloween costume, etc., but not on a daily basis.
I am weird and don't like onesies at all. Unless that's all they're wearing, it's just an extra step during diaper change. I live in a warmer climate, though. I don't think anyone is going to laugh at your toddler for wearing onesies!
I was mostly kidding about him looking dorky, lol
I don't want his daycare teachers to be annoyed during diaper changes!! Snaps are obnoxious!
I was team onesie for life until a switch flipped and I preferred shirts. I don't think I would worry about him looking dorky because who cares, lol.
I started to prefer shirts when he was around 15-18 months and he was walking - before that, shirts would always ride up. Plus he was in 2t for fall clothes and they're all shirts at that size.
Same here. I was all "he'll wear onesies forever! I love them!" Until one day when he was about 18 months old, fully walking, and i wanted to see if he'd pooped. I had to stop him running around, lay him down, pull off his pants, and peek into the side of the diaper. I had a epiphany that if he'd been wearing a shirt, I could have just peeked down the back of his pants, no stopping required. And that's when I gave up on onesies.

The only reason I don't put DD in onesies more often now is because I love being able to randomly grab her, lift up her shirt, and blow raspberries on her belly. Having to take off her shorts and unsnap the onesie before gaining access to the belly takes all the fun out of that
They were awesome for us through the past few winters. I have a single pack of 3 in size 2T for this winter, juuust in case. Sure he's using the potty here and there, but on really snowy days when we are out, or if he's playing in the snow, I think they will be great.

He still fits in his 24 month onesies, but I have yanked them all from his wardrobe since we are PTing. I loved them in the winter and will miss those (and feety pj's) this winter when it cools down.

DD still wears onesies to sleep in, because it has been hot as hell this summer. She is 2 years, 3 months.
I don't like how onesies look, personally, so she rarely wore them out and about once she started walking. But if you like them, I wouldn't worry about an age cut off.
We had C in onesies for layering under shirts until he outgrew the 24mo sized ones. This happened to coincide with spring in MN, so it worked out well and we didn't have to worry about layering to keep him warm anymore.
Then had to get size 24 month ones for both of them at 2.5 and 3 when they started grabbing their penises a lot. DS1 at daycare, had hands down pants a lot, and DS2 would reach in at night and pull it out and pee the bed. FUN.
I stopped at 9 months. For some reason she was prone to poopsplosions if she wore them. She has also always been forever squirmy and does not have time for those 3 snaps. I should've given up a long time ago actually.
Onesies bother me so the girls haven't worn many at all. That said, around 18mos J went through a stage where he started reaching in his diaper and well, yeah, it was gross. So we put him back in onesies under his clothes for the winter.

I can tell my kid has pooped from the other side of the room!
