I know, I could probably get over the potluck thing if it wasn't for the other bit (and the fact that yes, if they just did it themselves it would probably be less wasteful). I still want to know how these people buy cheese! Will there be toilet paper?! What if I need a bandaid?!
What if there's a FAMILY CLOTH?!? (instead of toilet paper)
Yeah, I can see that and it's totally fine if that's the lifestyle you want to choose. The whole thing annoys me in this context though and just comes off arrogant. And cheese! which comes in plastic! I still can't explain that
It seems cheese and meats, which people seem to be most concerned about, are bought at the counters and is weighed and then put in a jar to take home. I mean, sure, it works. I actually envy that lifestyle. We have way too much stuff and I have slowly been purging it out of the house. But we will probably never be zero waste.
ok, but deli cheese is not the same as the kind of cheese I would by for this though. I just don't think in a context where you're asking people to bring stuff to a party you're CO-hosting (two people!) you should dictate how people bring stuff. Totally my opinion obviously and I'm annoyed, lol.

guys, the shower got cancelled... yay! boo they are combining it with a family one since not many people could go - it could be other things, but maybe all the weirdness was too much for everyone else. I feel bad for my friend, but she'll still have another one so I think it's ok.
However, it's during a Seahawks game (how could they!?) and far away... tempted to just get her a present and give it another time
Thanks for the follow up. It sounds like there is some sort of bridal party/family drama going on. I think it's okay to miss a far away shower. Especially if it's during football season, but I'm biased.
