So, I had mine inserted on August 19th. Had just a touch of spotting afterwards. Now I am bleeding - could be a period, but it would be a bit early, like a week early? But I have also heard that random bleeding/spotting is normal?
I guess my question is, how long will it take my body to 'regulate' to the IUD (Mirena, in case it matters)?. I just don't really like never knowing when the hell I am going to bleed (not that I wear white pants every day...).

Mine never did... not what you wanted to hear I am sure. I had it in for 16 months while BF'ing... I spotted constantly. I survived another 6-7 months without Bfing and had that shit ripped out. It took weeks for me to sync back up normally afterwards (like 1 week of spotting after removal, 3 weeks alter two bad "period like" days, and then a real-ish period another 2 weeks after that). I am hoping things are now back to what they should be.
I had the Mirena inserted around 8wks pp and the random ass bleeding JUST stopped about two weeks ago. My kid is already 5.5 months old Even now, I had one random afternoon last week where I spotted minimally then it went away again. DH says it's 100% accurate re pregnancy risk b/c we never have sex anymore due to all of the spotting. (wilted)
Ditto random spotting, but I just KOKO regarding sex. The spotting is so light.
I had roughly a week of period like bleeding starting a little over a week after I got my Mirena...it was enough to make me think my period had come back, but it stopped after a week and hasn't come back since other than some light spotting here and there.
Yep, every woman is different, very unpredictable. Some women spot well over 6 months. Some women choose to have it taken out for that reason. I would see how things are in a few more months.
