I'm done with my first day back at work in 9 minutes. This has been a great day - I got the house to myself, I got caught up on 12 weeks of work email, and I think I pumped enough milk for DS. Fingers crossed that I made his bottles the right size today and they didn't have to thaw the extra I sent in. I feel zero guilt for sending the kids to daycare, but I'm also ready to spend a nice evening with my kids.
Congrats on surviving your first day back. Getting caught up on the email is worth a celebration in itself.
1) I finished the bus tags for the 1st graders. DD1 came home with hers on her backpack and I am so relieved.
2) I ordered an Edible Arrangement bouquet as a thank you gift for some friends we stayed with on our vacation this summer. Now I really want a bunch of fruit skewers.
It's 5, I could really use a break and DH won't be home for at least 90 minutes because of his stupid commute. Can't wait for him to be off of this project!
Just came inside after playing outside with DS. I feel gross from getting sweaty. Currently my mom is downstairs with DD and DS is sitting on my lap while I pump. He is in a diaper only, since he was wearing a swimsuit and swim diaper outside, and he's watching Daniel tiger on the iPad. I wish I had a picture of this.
Good luck with pics farmvillelover! Our photographer brings a space heater and noise machine to get the babies to go to sleep. Hope your baby is cooperative!
We have newborn pictures in about an hour. I hope they go ok, ugh. Newborns are just so unpredictable and I don't have a "sleepy newborn" like all the books say.
It will be fine! l don't think I have a single picture of DS1 sleeping as a baby. He is wide awake in every newborn picture. I love those pictures with his curious little wide open eyes, especially since that is how I remember his non-sleeping babyhood.
Oh my GOD, @mrswindycity. I am making your Caribbean chicken bowls and the smell is going to kill me. Especially because I'm making it, putting it away, going to a back-to-school event, and then coming home to eat it. GAH.
I'm in the office this week (only a handful of times each year) and I'm dying that someone moved my breast milk cooler to the "do not drink" labeled shelf in the fridge.
DH is in a year long school right now and has been working on homework a lot In the evenings. Ds sets his little laptop up and then says "shhhhhh I doing homework. I play later." So cute but it is kind of sad too. DH said a kid at the park the other night was saying the same things. Poor kiddos.
I put some Bravado nursing bras for sale on Kijiji (like Craigslist, but, Canada). The woman who said she'd buy them said she'd come by tonight around 6:30-7 or tomorrow at 10. At about 6, my dog grabbed the bag of bras and tried to kill them all. OMG. I couldn't sell nursing bras covered in dog slobber! I quickly tossed them in the wash and prayed she'd come tomorrow.
By 7:10 she wasn't here so I took the (worst) dog (ever) out for a walk. Of course, she comes when I was out so my husband tells her where to look for me (!) and he sticks the bras in the dryer (!!). So, I'm out walking my dog, and she finds me. I sheepishly walk home with her and get her the very damp bras. Gah. So embarrassing. DH thinks I should just have given her the dog slobbered bras and not told her about. I said no way, because what if she or the baby was allergic?
We were invited to go "camping" in our RV at H's friend's family cabin this weekend. H really wants to go. I don't. At all. But I feel like I need to suck it up and do it for him. I'm going to try to compromise and agree that we can go, but come home Sunday so we have at least one day at home.

I got an hour nap this afternoon while both DS2 and DD were napping since my MIL was here to entertain DS1!
I'm very happy about that since I'm on solo parenting duty with 3 kids from now until bedtime. Should get me through until whenever DD and I turn in for the night.
Oh my GOD, @mrswindycity. I am making your Caribbean chicken bowls and the smell is going to kill me. Especially because I'm making it, putting it away, going to a back-to-school event, and then coming home to eat it. GAH.
Hope you liked them (and that they held up okay to be putting away and eating later!)
They did hold up! We didn't stay very long because DD1 was a total snot today and cut her hair. So, no ice cream for her. I'm not a cool mom. We dropped off school supplies, said hi to her teacher and left 15 minutes later.
I forgot that the marinade that was put aside for dressing had raw jalapeƱo in it, though. My tongue swelled up like whoa. Whoops. WORTH IT.
