Well, hurricane preparedness is emphasized here, so we have water, flashlights, and batteries, though not a ton of non-perishable food. We're not in a flood zone (despite being somewhat close to the beach), so in most cases, we'd just stay put, but we've discussed heading up the hill if there were a tsunami.
In our end-of-the-world disaster planning, H and I have also discussed the need to befriend someone with a boat lol. On one hand, living somewhere so isolated could be a plus, but in other situations, we would be completely effed.
No, but dh thinks he is a prepper, even though he's done nothing to actually prep, ha. He has ideas though. We already know where we're going for safety though.

I have a bad habit of over-buying nonperishables, so we'd be set for food for maybe a month. We have plenty of candles, too (left over from our wedding). I have had to use an evacuation plan for a direct threat; if it was something bigger, we have two plans of where to go. 1st option would be ILs, but only if the disaster doesn't shut down a particular bridge. If the bridge is out, then we'd head to my brother's, who lives in BFE.
If we're talking true end of the world scenario, though, I say eff it. When the zombie apocalypse hits, I'd rather take myself out. (Or if the disaster is bad enough I have to spend more than a few weeks at the ILs' )
Oh yeah, end of the world situation, DH and I decided to steal a boat chloesilverado.
We'd hoard as much gas as possible and stay fairly close to the shore then just go to marina gas stations until it was no longer an option. By then hopefully the virus that wiped everyone else out would have disapated.
And then what? Be responsible for procreating for future generations? Fuck that noise, that virus better take me out too.
After Sandy we had no power for over a week. The first 24 hours we had no cell service at our house. I was thankful MH had an old radio so we could at least listen to the news. We were able to borrow our neighbor's generator a little bit so we could run the heat a for a couple of hours each day. We will probably buy a generator at some point. I don't worry or prep too much but I don't think it's a bad thing to have some essentials on hand.
We are pretty well prepared. We have water, food, security, generator. We're working on getting a switch installed so the generator can power the well pump, so we'd have longer-term water supply. Our emergency plan is for everyone to come back here to our home, since we're pretty well prepared. I wish my parents hadn't move one county away. They used to be 5 miles away now it's 35. A loooong walk in an emergency
People, you need to at least have water. A gallon per person per day, and you should be prepared for like 3 days to a week.
(Where am I going to store all this freaking water?!?)
We have several 3-gallon tubs, similar to what goes into a water cooler at an office. We also have special liners for the bathtubs, so we can fill the bathtubs and keep the water fresh.
Not even a little prepared. I mean, I watch The Walking Dead and Fear, so I'm pretty sure I know what to do - that's basically educational, right?
But I don't have supplies or anything or a bag or a bunker. If shit went down, like an attack where were trying to avoid people or a virus or something, I'd probably go fill the bath tub with water, take as much stuff upstairs as possible, and then take out the stairs. Beyond that, I'd hope we could make it to the car and GTFO if things got really bad, but by that point...like others said, if it's truly end times, I probably don't want to survive.

I have seriously considered getting Lasix eye correction after watching these shows.I would be one of the first to go if I don't have my contacts. We would probably move to another house in our family that is still hooked up to a spring that sends the water to the house via a gravity feed and has wood burning capabilities.
