Skin care help- people with acne/pimples

I have had acne off and on since having dd1. It went away completely when I got pregnant with dd2 but it has come back again now that I am nursing. What products have you found help or what face treatments- chemical peel/facials? I am willing to do anything at this point. It's not everywhere but I do have some scaring from old pimples. I typically have pimples that will stay in the same spots forever. There are three I have right now that have been there for months. They get big, small, big, small, over and over again. I'm getting a massage on Sunday and was tempted to do a facial while I am there to see if that would help. Prescription drugs are out bc I'm nursing and I feel that since it isn't everywhere I don't need them- I just need these pimples to go away once and for all.

After I weaned my face got bad again, so I'm on minocycline and retin-a.

Nothing OTC really made any difference b/c I could tell mine were hormonal around the time I would get my period.

I'm having this issue, too - and it's been particularly bad lately - so I just ordered a bunch of stuff with AHA/glycolic acid. I've heard good things and have my fingers crossed.

I didn't think the cleanser or the moisturizer was anything special. The AHA is just like a home chemical peel - it kind of takes a layer off. The usual benozyl peroxide did work, but it's very drying. It does work to follow their general regimen just to do a total skin reset. 

Mine has finally calmed down, thank God. I feel like I'm going to have acne my whole life.

Cosmedix Clarity Serum is my holy grail product. I have tried lots because I am a product junkie but I always go back to it. It just works and it doesn't require a fancy routine. Just wash your face, apply, then moisturize. It is kind of stinky but the smell goes away and you get used to it. I've been using it since high school.

I've had really good luck introducing BHA/AHAs into my routine. I get these exfoliants from Paula's Choice and they have made a HUGE positive difference in my skin. I also am more careful about removing my makeup fully before washing my face. When I started using the BHA, I noticed makeup leftover on the cotton ball even after I had washed my face. I guess my gentle face wash wasn't getting to job done and that was clogging up my pores even more.

I use this 6 nights per week at night after I wash my face:

These have helped fade my scars too in addition to preventing more breakouts. The CLEAR kit she sells also has a benzoyl peroxide component but that did nothing for me.

See a dermatologist. It will depend for each person.

I was diagnosed with rosacea which was hugely helpful to know so I could avoid a lot of triggers.

Ultimately, antibiotics were most helpful.

You get 16 oz of the acne.org AHA+ for the same price as 2 oz of the Paula's Choice AHA - same strength of active ingredients. The acne.org stuff is really great.

I've had acne issues since my teens. I have tried different products but always go back to my old regimen 2x/day. Wash with Dove unscented bar, 2% Benzoyl Peroxide on trouble areas, let BP dry, moisturize. I use Aveeno moisturizer now but sometimes change this up.

I really like the Acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide and that's what I currently use. Most BP is 10% and their 2% gel works just as well for me. I have tried AHA but it didn't do anything for me.

Anything with glycolic acid really helps me skin.

I rotate between a retinol moisturizer and a glycolic moisturizer.

I love benzoyl peroxide washes, but man, even if I rinse really well it still seems to bleach our towels!
