H and I both got raises this week--his is 4% and mine is 2% but still!
C's favorite thing to do lately is play games where H and I portray inanimate objects so we just get to lay there. Last night H was a hospital for about half an hour while Dr. C puttered around him.
P is starting to attempt clapping and it's super cute.

I am off until next Tuesday and the weather is going to be gorgeous! Ds is going on hour 3 of a nap and I took a 2 hour nap. I think we will go get ice cream when he gets up.
We fly to MI tonight and are stopping in Ann Arbor tomorrow for lunch and to buy DS a hat. I want to get some pictures of him on campus. We plan to have lunch at my favorite sangria place!!
We're taking DS to the zoo and fountains by my parents, he will love both.
DD has figured out how to pull out her fabric bins and climb inside. Yesterday she decided to curl up with her clothes. It was so cute, I couldn't be annoyed that she had just pulled half the clothes out of the bins.

DD's birthday party is Saturday. (She turns 4 on 9/7.) The only thing she asked for was a big girl bike, which we got her. My mom got her roller skates. She is going to flip.
I don't think I've ever seen my kids happier than they have been lately. They love school and their sports. It's a great feeling to see them just loving life.
Ds didn't fight about taking a nap and laid right down and went to sleep. Seriously made my day and erased the two time outs he had while was trying to get lunch together.
More of a random, but one that made me smile. I just found some home videos from when I was a baby and I saw myself doing tummy time on the same knitted blanket that DD takes to daycare for naptime. Also I learned that in the late 80s it was okay for a not quite 2 year old (my brother) to play with a real hammer and nails - and now I'm wondering if DD can "help" renovate parts of the garage in a few months.
My neighbor is the coordinator for Girl Scouts at DD's school. I definitely wanted to sign DD up so I asked her about it a few weeks ago, and long story short, I'm going to be the kindergarten troop leader. And I am really pumped.
I loved Girl Scouts when I was little and I love outdoorsy things and can't wait to share all of this with my little girl. I even dug out my sash from brownies to show her my badges, she super excited.

As I read through the posts I was just thinking, "Is there anything better than seeing your child happy?" I mean, it's so much better than being happy yourself kwim? As much as I loved Christmas morning as a kid and thought it couldnt get any better, I now know it gets sooo much better than that. Now I get to watch my kids have all of that excitement!! It's awesome!!
My daughter is at a really fun age. I love having conversations with her. I'm having a baby within the next three weeks and I'm so excited! It is really fun seeing DD and DH get so excited too.
Congrats! What did you get? I feel fancy with my new car too. My Subaru Impreza was a base model (didn't even have cruise control!) so having a backup camera and blind spot warning is so much fancier.
AmyRI having some sort of free standing storage cubby back there is a good idea. With my previous car there wasn't much space for stuff to roll around back there. I ordered some WeatherTech floor mats because snow/slush/salt is a mess up here in the frigid north. I'd like to get something similar for the hideaway part of the cargo area but no one seems to make it. That way I could stand the shelf things on end when I need a waterproof area and still maintain functionality of that system. I might try to fit my large shallow Tubtrug in there for now.
@callmefia oh that sucks about the no garage storage thing. I pretty much just keep some emergency car supplies and reusable grocery bags in my car and then the stroller and diaper clutch stay in the garage until I need them.
I started a mommy and baby yoga class today, and besides the class being good itself, I'm happy that E actually enjoyed most of it. I'm happy for a successful outing and for meeting some other moms close to me.

We got a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport - it's not the highest-end model but compared to our 7- and 8-year-old cars it feels like a nice upgrade!
