Doctor Who! *late to thread* I love Doctor Who so much. I did M's nursery in a Doctor Who theme. And yeah, I totally echo all the "Blink" love. My old roomie and I watched that episode with blankets pulled up to our eyes, and when he boyfriend came and knocked on the door, we screamed. Great episode.
1st off: Ten is my favorite Doctor, but I LOVE Nine. He does not get enough credit for how great he was. DH and I just finished season 8 on Netflix, and decided to go back the the beginning of the reboot just because it's been so long, and yeah. I don't remember appreciating him so much on the first pass, but Eccleston is fucking FANTASTIC, and nobody can tell me otherwise.
2nd: Donna can get fucked. Maybe it's because she joined up so quickly after Rose and I just wasn't ready to love again, but really, Donna:
3rd: I really need to get BBC America added back into my cable package because I don't think I can wait for Netflix to see River again in the Christmas special.

Love every show you mentioned. And Dr. Who would not be Dr Who if it wasn't cheesy. It HAS TO BE cheesy. Has to. and if you like cheese, you must watch Red Dwarf.

Late to this thread but die-hard Dr Who fan here as well since the reboot with Christopher Eccleston. David Tennant is still my favorite but we love Peter Capaldi now. Matt Smith grew on me
We recently watched the whole Firefly season on Amazon Prime. Loved it!
Donna was one of the least whiny companions. Rose, on the other hand, was whining all the time. The Stolen Earth/Journey's End line where is all "what about me" kills me every time. IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU, ROSE!
The Empty Child. OMG, that was the one that made me love Nine (plus it had Jack). Ten is amazing, he is perfection. Eleven is too floppy and Tigger-like. Fezes (Fezi?) really? Twelve, I think I love him a little. He is grizzled. He is cranky. He is how I would expect someone 900+ years old to be, having seen and lost all he has.
Rose can suck it. Martha is amaze-balls. Donna is my spirit animal. Amy, loved her then hated her. Rory, hated him, then loved him. Clara? Ugh, she needs to go. Craig and Stormageddon? Love them too. Would love it if Stormageddon showed up again as an adult. More timey-wimey stuff. And Donna's gramps, Wilfred - I adore him too. He is how I would have wanted my gramps.
And Jack Harkness. All I can say about him is yum! Thought the last season of Torchwood sucked it so bad, it scarred me.
2. And thank you to whoever corrected Dr. to Doctor. Think of it as a first name instead of a title, y'all.
3. The only time I liked Clara was when she was in the Asylum of the Daleks. I thought that episode was heartbreaking. I actually cried for her there.
4. I want to like Peter Capaldi but I can't understand what he's saying. It's hard.
5. I started on Torchwood before Doctor Who so Gwen and Jack and Ianto have a very special place in my heart. I had a girl crush on Gwen for a long time.
6. Firefly fucking ROCKS and Fox, as always, fucked it up by cancelling that show too early.
Doctor Who! Definitely ditto all the people who said at least watch through The Empty Child. That episode was fucking creepy and it was the episode that got me hooked. Bonus points for Jack Harkness! I really liked Eccleston as the Doctor and the issues of season 1 are not his fault, but I remember watching season 1 with my H last year and thinking, "Are you kidding with me with this campy crap?"
Oddly enough, while Tennant is probably my favorite Doctor, the only times I've cried watching Doctor Who were when Amy says her goodbye to the Doctor and when Eleven regenerates. That was some poetry to my heart there.
Rose never bothered me too much during her seasons. But when she comes back for specials? Uff da. What happened to her voice? And I bawled like a baby when she got left in the alternate universe...that was a seriously sad breakup. #loveditdontcare
I'm not sure how I feel about Clara yet. My kid LOVES her.

I despise Clara. DESPISE. Honestly, I don't like her and 12. I don't want a caretaker. I want a companion.

Blink I like you, but all Donna did was whine and argue.

I want a spinoff series that's essentially just a Strax reality show. Like, the idea of watching him out in the world doing things, like, buying groceries or calling Comcast customer service just tickles me to no end.
