Okay, I did my research and I settled that we wanted the Britax Boulevard Clicktight for our convertible car seat. I was waiting for a sale to buy it at BRU where we have a ton of GC left. BRU is doing the car seat trade in sale, so 25% off car seats! Awesome, right? Yes, except all the Clicktight seats have been recalled and are not available right now. Boo.
We hit BRU and BBB today. We tried the Chicco Nextfit in our car (RAV4) and while the seat looks great, I'm worried about how hard it might be to get baby in and out since it has such a deep bucket. The car is already tall off the ground and i'm a weakling. I was against it but then the guy at BBB showed us how the cover zips off to wash and that is pretty nice.
At BRU they said we can get a rain check for the Clicktight and get it when they start shipping again in October. But is that a bad idea since it was recalled? Should we just get the Nextfit? Something else?
Baby is only 3 months so we have time but I don't want to miss this sale. I hate car seats. They are so confusing and expensive. I just want to pick one and be done with it.
I would not be worried about a recall - I'm sure they will be super conservative before putting them back in stores.
Really? Why? I'm nervous about it but my H loves it. But I'll be the one using it the most.
I'm not sure really. Maybe because I have a Foonf in my car and that thing is amazing. I don't love that DD can't see out the window because of the low bucket and I found the straps kind of hard to tighten for the first six months or so. I do like the easy installation though. And I seem to be a lone hater around here so it could just be me!
The Next Fit Zip is good if you have a puker. It really is very easy to clean. But your baby is little. Mine didn't become a puker until 12 months. Prior to that she was a screamer. I'm with you on the car seats are confusing.

The recall issue seemed really minor. They mailed us a tiny tube of lubricant (which spilled in the mail), but our Boulevard isn't having the problem anyway. I vastly prefer it to our Nextfit, though both covers arent the easiest to remove for cleaning.
I like the next fit now but at first DH and I hated it. It's so hard to tighten the straps but as DD has gotten older there doesn't need to be as much give in them to get her settled and then tighten. I would not want to use it for a little baby though. DD loves it and is very comfortable in it. We RF'd until just after 2 and she seemed comfortable in it both ways.

We just got ours in the mail today, and it leaked everywhere too!

We have 3 next fits and it's fine. Dd refuses to let us put her in it, she insists on climbing in herself. She has been climbing in for the last 9 months or so.
