My parents are leaving in two weeks. I'm so upset It's been tough but it's also been awesome to have my mom around when I was pg, giving birth, baby's surgery and newborn craziness. I don't know when I'll see them again My mom and the baby are so attached to each other. My mom is going to miss her so much after spending every day with her for 4 months. On the one hand, I'm excited for my career and future here but on the other hand, I regret my decision to leave my family behind. I feel so selfish and guilty. This is too hard
Awwww I'm sorry. I think it's so nice that she's been there for 4 months. At the same time, once they are gone you will quickly get into your own routine which is good too.
Aw, sequins- I've been trying to think of something comforting to say & hate that I'm coming up short. I promise it'll be ok; agree w/ aprilsails that it might be nice to hit your own stride now. And I do appreciate that you're starting your freak out w/ 2 wks left, so you can really try to suck up Gma vibes as much as possible in the next fortnight So Many hugs!!
Aw @ sequins, it will be okay. Your parents being there and then not will be hard at first. But you guys will get into a routine and it will be great. I hope it won't be too long before you see them again.
I am trying to come up with some comforting words about your career. The best I can say is that baby sequins will be much better off with a mom who is happy and fulfilled in all areas of her life--work as well as home.

sequins, I'm sorry, it's really hard. Do your parents FaceTime or Skype? It's not much use when she's just a little lump, but B is two now and she's been actually interacting with her grandparents via FaceTime for a while now. She knows who grandma is and asks to talk to her.
I can commiserate though, I started living on a different continent than my parents when B was 6 months and I definitely feel guilty about it sometimes.

While you have them there in person, can you record them reading a children's book? Or singing a lullaby or something? It would be nice to play that for her over time so she can hear their voices.
Wow sequins I can't believe that much time has gone by. How lucky you were all able to spend all these months together. That has to be hard saying goodbye. When you say you don't know how long till you see them again is that like a year, or more like years? Just curious.
I'm planning for a year but that's too long baby would be a year old? And I just saw them after a three year gap. I'm hoping I won't let it go that long between visits.

I'm so glad to hear this. Yes, we will definitely ft/skype often.

Great idea! I have a bunch of videos for me but I'll record one for the baby. Thanks <3
