New to posting here, but was hoping to get some planning help if possible
Looks like my BIL and myself are going to be heading up the planning for a big family trip to the OBX next summer, with the hopes that my LS who lives in England can make the trip over with my nephews! I'm pretty excited, we haven't done anything like this before and I haven't seen my LS in 7 years We've never been to the OBX, but we're looking to rent a house with about 8 rooms, hopefully by the beach. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to start looking, attractions, etc? It will be our family of 5, my OS, BIL and 2 nieces, my parents, and again, hopefully my LS, BIL and 2 nephews - kids will range in age from 4-15.
We stayed at this house www.vrbo.com/40142 last year. It was amazing. Perfect location on the sound. But only 2 blocks to the ocean (we rented bikes and a kid trailer which made getting over there super easy).
We went to the wright brothers memorial, did a wild horse your with www.wildhorsetour.com (they were great), went to see Roanoke and some of us saw the lost colony play, and we biked around duck and went to the beach a lot, paddleboarded in the sound behind the house, swam in the awesome private pool, etc etc. it was awesome!

We always enjoy climbing the sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge State Park. Go in the evening - the sand will be cooler. You can watch people hang glide, fly kites, sand surf down the dunes, and the kids can race and roll down the dunes. Lots of fun and exercise for everyone, and it tires the kids out.
I personally like the Kitty Hawk/KDH area since pretty central. We did the aquarium, wright brothers, Jockey Ridge, kayaking, jet skiing in Duck, Jeanette's Pier, and went on a fishing boat. My family did a sunset tour to the see the horses in Corolla which I believe is a MUST DO.
Close by there was mini golf, go carts, an arcade and we even did family laser tag one rainy night :-)
We just got back yesterday and had a wonderful time! We stayed in the Kitty Hawk/KDH area and it was a perfect location.
