We have sets of docs that work their way around the office in hard copy. I work in an office with a door, and keep the ones I'm done with in a tray on my desk. Another coworker will walk into my office, behind my chair and around the other side of my desk, grab the docs from the tray then walk back out without saying a word. Hello McFly?
I have a coworker who does something similar. She never "announces" herself, and it's really weird. I'm in a cubicle, but will be moving to an office in a few weeks and fully expect the behavior to continue--she does the same thing to another coworker who's already in an office.
