I have half day Fridays every week. Never, ever pick up before nap! It's not quality time at home if he's seeping anyways. I usually use that time for errands - groceries, a pedicure, haircut, Target run, whatever.
Depending on the plans for the evening, I'll get him earlier in the afternoon, but not really before 2:30-3. (Normal pick up is 5:30)

Ok you all just made me question my decision to pick my girls up before lunch tomorrow. Oy. I need to figure out my plan. I have so few no kid days prebaby but then I think I have so few just the three of us days too. Mom guilt sucks.

Thanks for the reassurance, all. The mom-guilt is rough, especially since he started daycare 2 weeks ago and I negotiated every other Friday off when I went back to work after maternity leave (2 years ago). I took the pay cut to have this day with him so I do feel slightly guilty if I'm not with him. I won't always do this but I'm looking forward to some me time
Hell no. Leave him there all day. Enjoy yourself. Run errands alone, get a pedicure and have a nice long lunch and nap. Don't feel guilty. Moms need breaks. It makes us better moms!
When I worked I had Friday's off and he went to daycare all day like 95% of the time. I got so much done and that time to recharge by myself was amazing. Occasionally DH took the day or afternoon off and we went out to lunch or on a hike, to a museum. Seriously best thing ever.
