Thank God for you people. Other than vacuuming because we have two big dogs, everything else gets clean when it starts looking nasty or people are coming over.
I shower daily, but I guess I clean things.....when they're "noticeably dirty"? I swiff the floors once a week, but have not mopped the floors in this house...ever - and we've lived here for going on two years. I have wet swiffed a handul of times, though; does that count?
Reading that post convinces me that we are dirty people, because if we only did toilets or showers biweekly or monthly, it would be nasty. Also, I have a 6.5 year old boy and I don't know what goes on when he pees, but pee always ends up everywhere in the bathroom he regularly uses.
Yes this is my experience as well. Even when we had cleaning people coming in e/o week I used to do it myself on the off weeks. It just gets gross otherwise. If we didn't have the kids, it would be a different story but I feel like they are constantly touching the walls with their dirty hands or dropping sticky food on the floor. The boys aren't always as careful as they should be when using the bathroom. They leave a ring of toothpaste in the sink after brushing their teeth and dirt or whatever it is in the bathtub. You can sweep that stuff up/rinse it away but if you don't scrub the surface with soap and water it'll leave a gross residue. I don't get how other people are able to get away with not doing this.
I shower (and wash my hair) daily. All other things, including the house and the kids, are just plain nasty. I will admit to cleaning up pee puddles by the toilet but everything else can just wait in line.

You girls are my people.
I have plenty of time to shower daily and clean my house top to bottom. I just prefer to spend nap time GBCN'ing while watching TV I can't watch around the girls and that DH hates.
Also, this is totally flammable. But DD1 hasn't had a bath since Sunday night. I usually bathe her after ballet on Wednesday, but it didn't happen. Then last night was back to school night and she was with my parents, and I didn't want to have them do it. So she's pretty dirty. She doesn't smell though, I promise! Puberty body odor is going to be a rude awakening for us because she's going to have to shower a lot more often than she does now!

You know what I am asking for for Christmas? A Roomba, so that I never have to sweep the crumbs on my floors. The 20 year old me would have died at the thought of wishing for a vacuum.

Dear clean people in this thread: no, our families are not less gross than yours. We are just lazier and have lower standards. Leave us alone to revel in our filth.
I shower daily, but I guess I clean things.....when they're "noticeably dirty"? I swiff the floors once a week, but have not mopped the floors in this house...ever - and we've lived here for going on two years. I have wet swiffed a handul of times, though; does that count?
I feel like this is even worse because I SAH.
I answered in the thread that I mopped once a month. By mopped I meant wet swiffer a small kitchen apartment so of course it counts.
Once in a while, someone says it's gross when people pip and say "sorry about the mess" instead of just cleaning up first. I assume that's about me. Lol.
I don't even apologize for it! What does that say about me?
