What non-major chain specialty stores do you enjoy shopping at, either in person or online? I have a couple I frequent, but I'm always interested in more.
-Penzeys Spices (Spices, duh) -Olio (Oils & Vinegars) -Modcloth (Vintage style clothes) -Ruche (clothes) -Lily Boutique (clothes) -Home Goods (totally a chain, but I often find unique products there I can only re-find online. Especially teas)
I never heard of those, with the exception of Modcloth and Home Goods! It seems that most of the things I buy are at mainstream stores or Amazon. There's a cheese shop I like nearby that has a huge variety of international cheeses, but it's a local store. H sometimes goes to a local beef jerky shop - it's seriously the most delicious jerky ever. Other than that, I get some dog things from Chewy.com.
I like to try and shop local. Obviously I like to go to wineries to buy wine. That's a given lol. I actually buy a lot of my specialty oils and vinegars at different wineries. I also buy a lot from the local farmers market.
I do love Home Goods though. I need to go there soon to get some stuff.

My friend introduced me to a great skin/body product store, called Sabon. I ordered an awesome salt scrub from there. It wasn't cheap, but I can see why she is addicted to their products.
I dislike HomeGoods. MIL got us a giftcard there to get stuff for our new house and so far, all but one item was either damaged or broke on us. I landed up using the remaining balance on dog poop bags just to use up the remaining credit so we don't have to go back there.
