DS2 is a great nurser but holy eff he latches HARD. I have about 10 seconds of toe curling when he grabs me and then once he gets some milk he relaxes a bit.
Weight check tomorrow (standard at our pedi for all breastfed babies). I'll be curious to see if he has gained and how much.
My four year old is half awake. She was screaming for me, so I came in and she asked me how pumpkins doze off. What could she possibly have been dreaming?
OMG trying to sleep train in a shared room sucks! It's been going okay, last night was great actually (just woke up once at 5) but it's only midnight and I already caved and gave him a bottle and he's still having a hard time. I can't just let him go on and on forever because he is loud and after a while it wakes up DD.
I think he is finally down now but I held him, so that defeats the purpose.
Has anyone sleep trained in a shared room? (They are 1 and 3)
I could maybe have DD sleep in here with us but she's one to catch onto new habits quickly and throw major fits if it doesn't continue. Plus she is really good about being quiet when DS is sleeping in there so I don't want her to know there's another option...
One of the worst things about newborn sleep is how unpredictable it is. 3 days ago? 4 hour stretches. Tonight? 40 minutes
This is the truth! Yesterday Nathan let me put him down to sleep so easily sooner after finishing eating. Today? Not at all, just wanted to be held all day
Boo babies. So tired. I think this is the 6 week growth spurt. Good thing babies are cute. I am already looking forward to my nap today lol
Ugh. DD2 has been in daycare 3 days and I think she has a cold. Poor thing is congested and is getting mad while she nurses and tries to take her pacifier. Oh! And her farts smell terrible. karinothing I feel you on unpredictability. She's been sleeping 10-4/5 for a few weeks and tonight's it has been a lot more frequent than that. Maybe every two hours, not sure.
3am pumping like always. The baby actually slept tonight though! He's been waking up at 10 and 1 (give or take) for like 4-6 weeks now after sleeping through the night before that.
My night is going pretty OK! At bedtime last night was our first attempt at STing and it wasn't horrible. And DS has slept two 3hr stretches which is on the high side for him (sadly, he's 9mo...). If that keeps up/increases, it'd be a huge bonus.
We've had an "off" night too. DD has been much fussed to transfers after eating tonight and only going about 2 hours between feeds. But during the day today she went 3 hours between feedings a couple times and slept fine napped pretty well on her own.
It's 345am here and I just put her down, hoping to get one last decent stretch of sleep before I have to be up at 630am to get the DS2 ready for school.
But my parents are taking the boys to their lake cabin today for overnight, so I should get to nap this afternoon and sleep in Saturday morning.
