Afternoon. I felt off though after work the day before and decided to work from home. I have 2 contractions an hour until about 4 and then had her at 9:30. It sounds weird but leaving work the day before I just felt a shift and discomfort.
I think my third counts. I kind of self induced with a labor cocktail and had some contractions night before but they petered out. Went to bed. Woke up at 1:30am with contractions and had the baby at 6:30am.

With Nods, it was the middle of the night. My water broke at 10:30 pm contations started at like 12:30, baby at5:50 am. I was told with your first you don't start the labor timer until contractions.
With Chase it was about 48 minutes start to finish. BUT Nods nursing kicked of my labor, but I nursed her all through my pregnancy, so my body was just ready.

Woke at 1:00am with labor pains tried to wait it out but they were about 5 minutes apart. Got to the hospital just before 3:00am, DS was born at 7:17am. He was also a little early at 38w5d.
Those of you with super fast second labors - did you leave for the hospital/birth center as soon as contractions were 1 min long and 4 min apart?
My midwife said she wants to see an hour of 1 min long 4 min apart contractions before you go in.
I fudged it. We headed to the hospital after about half an hour of contractions. we live 25 or 30 minutes away, and by the time we were up and in a room it was after 5 AM, and she was born shortly after six.

I live 20-25min away from the birth center so I think I may do something like this too. Maybe wait 15min for painful contractions, take a bath (to see if they slow down) for 20min and then call her.

I had contractions overnight, but I had similar contractions for days before that. It wasn't until my water broke around 5am that I realized I was actually in labor this time.

I left before contractions started, lol. Water broke, packed up DS and dropped him off at a friend's house, contractions started on the way to the hospital.

I was specifically not to wait at all for my second and third labors. Told to go in as soon as I thought it was it. That was after 2-3 contractions, but had to wait for my mom so we left probably 20 minutes after contractions started the second time and probably around 45 minutes after they started the third time because I was dumb and did the grocery shopping first.

All of my "labors" ranged from <5 minutes to 3 hours, but only my fifth did my membranes start to leak. Still no labor after 17 hours, so I induced it. I'm guessing contractions might have picked up later that day had I not induced. I was too impatient and didn't want to wait. I had also been 5 cm and 80% effaced and 0 station for five days (and the same with my others). I don't really start "labor" until transition or close to it.
I was planning/had another homebirth, but I was so anxious about having a UC away from home. That I'd go from feeling fine one minute to having a baby fall out of me like with ds2. I wanted to avoid birthing at Trader Joe's or Target. Plus, I wanted a water birth, which I didn't get with my ds2 since he came rather unexpectedly while I was on my bed.

We waited a couple hours for our sitter and to be sure it was the real thing since it was two weeks before her due date. Got to the hospital 1.5 hours before she was born.
