Yes. My dad and his private pilot friend (both former military pilots) picked me up from college once in his friend's Cessna. I also dated 2 different guys with pilot's licenses who took me up. I was a little nervous but it was really cool. My BFF is also licensed, but I haven't gone up with her

Yes. A friend's dad has a small plane (4seater and not a jet) and would fly us to various stuff like camp and even college (until she transferred - bitch ;-)
I was definitely younger and more fearless then but i would still fly with him.
I have. My uncle has a plane and it's a 2 seater. Maybe 4? Anyway, I've been for a spin in it. I actually liked it more than a real big airplane. I absolutely hate flying.
yes. When I was young ( like 10 to 14 yrs old) my dad owned a 4 seater plane and every weekend we'd go up in it. It was so cool to fly over friends houses and stuff!
No. We were signed up to do an Arctic Circle tour in Alaska, and it (thankfully!!) was cancelled after a 2 hour delay thanks to fog. I was terrified. It was a 6 seater plane.
This was prior to obtaining a Xanax prescription. I'd handle it better now.

I regularly fly in a small cessna. I don't find it scary at all, because I can see everything the pilot is doing. If the pilot's not panicking, I've got no reason to be worried
Yep! My BFF's dad always had a small Cessna for work, technically a 6-seater, but the two back seats were really only big enough for the toy poodle to lay on. He flew us to Florida several times, and to some other fun places. He often let me "fly" the plane - I fell asleep once when I was supposed to be flying us over the Everglades. Good thing I was never really in control, or we'd all have been gator bait.
I'd love to take flying lessons some day, but what an expensive hobby!

Yes, I've flown in 6 seater planes several times to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Not private though. It doesn't really bother me, mostly because the flights are so short.
Yes. With a 22 year old pilot (friend). I wasn't scared then but looking back I should have been. We had to be weighed before boarding to balance the plane out.

No, and I don't believe I would.
Well, I'd take a very small plane flown by a professional pilot, but I really don't think that I'd take a plane flown by someone who flew as a hobby. It just seems so incredibly unsafe to me.
The judge I used to work for used to fly all over Florida and Georgia in tiny planes owned and/or piloted by friends of his, and he had countless stories of emergency landings in corn fields and things. (Or whatever fields you have around here. Orange groves maybe.) I'm sure some hobby pilots are very safe, but I'll stick to commercial planes.
I also don't know any rich friends with planes :-) I have been on helicopters a few times. Maybe I'm delusional and those aren't any safer.

Yes. My husband is a pilot for an airline now, but when we were in college we flew a lot while he was building hours. A lot of the time it was just around our state, but a few times we ventured out. We flew into NJ around 4 weeks or so after 9/11. We stayed with a friend that lived by Madison Square Garden, and went to Ground Zero and a few other places. We also flew to New Orleans a few time and some other random places.
I've flown in a 4-6 seater pretty often. My dad flew around the state regularly for work, and a couple of friends from college had family planes. It's not as "rich kids of instagram" as it sounds; they'd herd cattle/ check stock and crops by plane because they had too much ground to cover via truck/ 4-wheeler/ horse.

DH and I got to fly on his company's private jet when he was going down to look for an apartment after he had accepted his job. We were more excited than scared.
