I just baked an angel food cake but I spaced and for some reason didn't remove the top rack (even though the instructions said to) and so it cooked up into the rack and got all over. Such a mess. I'm mad at myself for being dumb and creating a big cleaning job. Fortunately, I was able to salvage the majority of the cake.

Oh no! Glad you were able to partially save it!
After spending forever at Menards and Home Depot we're about to head over to the house to do a few things and paint our samples on the walls. It's much later than I wanted to get out there but oh well. But we have to get up early to go to the post office to set up I assume a PO Box. Apparently they won't deliver on our street but do to my coworker's house on the next street over. Oh, and they're only open from 8:30-9:30 tomorrow. Yay moving to a small town!
I'm all alone for a few hours while hubby is at a sporting event. I want to scrapbook but that requires hauling so much stuff out. Haven't decided yet.
estrellita What colors are you doing? I love painting.
Grey in our room and blue in E's room we're being smart this time getting samples because last time we painted in our old apartment the grey we got was like a periwinkle color, lol. Totally not what we were going for!

Yeah, same mistake here. I'm sold on those samples now! You should post the color swatches

Yeah grays are weird. We had some from the rental we were in that we took to the house and since we already had it, we figured we'd use it to paint the hall bathroom (so it wouldn't be Pepto Bismol pink). It came out a purplish color. It was fine since I had purple in there but it was weird.
I'm snacking on some cheesecake (I feel like a Golden Girl) right now watching Modern Family reruns. In a bit H and I will watch a few episodes of Farscape, the current show we're binge-watching. It's a very quirky sci-fi show, but I'm enjoying it. I'm still trying to get H interested in watching Scandal.
estrellita definitely post some progress pics as you get painting and things done! Samples are definitely the way to go, especially with greys. It's hard to get a true grey! They often come out purple or blue.
I have been cleaning like crazy, so I don't come back to a dirty apartment on Monday when we get back from the wedding. H has been practicing his best man speech and having me time it, it's cute, lol.

It's Saturday morning, but I've got a long random (or vent, maybe). H and I have a condo this week in the beach town where his mom and (just turned) 18yo sis live. We went out to dinner with them last night and somehow MIL and SIL got into a fight walking to the car ---literally about nothing. MIL had driven and took us back to our condo. The plan was for SIL's bf to meet her there and hang out for a bit with everyone. SIL got out of the car and was crying. H and I stood to the side waiting. MIL apparently went off on her and was like "you can find your own way home or you can't not come home" and she just left! Obviously we don't mind SIL spending the night and I really felt for her because I remember those teenage fights with my mom, but seriously? We are on vacation and you do this, MIL? We took SIL and her BF out for dessert, and then stayed up talking with her for a while. Finally I tell H to text his mom that SIL is staying, on the off chance she was expecting her to come home. I didn't want her up all night worrying that she was running around with the BF or something. She didn't respond to him. Uhhh, grow up. We were not even a part of this.
Let's see if I can get something to upload... the paint was so different than I expected! The light blues we got for E's room were way whiter than I thought and one of the greys was more blue than I thought. If it works I'm going to try the swatches in this post.. they are the colors with Xs on them
The lighting is so weird.. the same color paint is currently on the walls in both rooms, lol. We are trying to find a blue that goes with the blue and green sheets we have for E's room (the furniture is pretty much all white) and for our room the duvet is white with a grey, blue and green design and grey sheets. We are also getting an aqua blue duvet soon (we were going to get white but they were out.. bought from a co-op). I like the lighter one to make it more light and airy in the room, but I like the color of the darker one better. For the blues I'm leaning toward the one on the left but we actually might see if the lighter grey in our room might work for his!
wanderingenough wtf to your MIL. That's rude to just leave her at your place and expect you to host her or bring her home.
That's kind of how I felt. They live like 25 mins away, so either we spend an hour driving back and forth to take home an upset teenager or our Friday night becomes consoling an upset teenager. It's not like we were going to let two high schoolers go off on their own all night with no one expecting them home. ((On that note, when did I become an adult?))

MrsMBtravelbug -- It only got worse yesterdat. H and his mom ended up arguing. I was pretty close to throwing her out of the condo because I didn't like how she was speaking to him....but I refrained. I kept telling myself to be the bigger person.
