How old is your DD#2? I didn't lose my first tooth until 3rd grade, which I think is pretty late.
We had such a good day yesterday. Our hideous, messy, cluttered garage is now so clean and organized! And the party last night was fun and drama free. I hope today follows suit.
I had to take my cat, Kitty, to the emergency vet last night. She's 14 and was acting really anxious and like she was in pain. The vet did some bloodwork and they think she has a kidney infection. She stayed the night at the vet for medicine and fluids and I get to pick her up later today. They said she is otherwise healthy for being so old! She has lost like 5 pounds in the last 3 years though, so I have to do a follow up with the vet to check her thyroid.
My aunt and uncle are in town from Missouri and they came up with my mom and sister to see the house today. We've been painting and we just have the top half of E's room left. We'll do that tomorrow plus probably clean the carpets. Tonight we're going out for a friend's birthday so E is staying at the ILs. Hopefully we can get some stuff done before they bring him back to us tomorrow!

We had a "bagels and bloody Marys" play date this morning. My kind of play date! DH is at his fantasy draft. We had pizza. Going to beach with friends in the morning.

I really love 3 day weekends!!
Friday we leave for Disney!!!
This sounds amazing. How old is your kid do you live in my city? Just kidding. I think you have just given me a fantastic idea.
Again I'm asking how old is your kid? I'm trying to figure out what is going to be a good age to take my girls to disney. i'm also deciding between frying and driving. I would rather drive. Dh wants to fly. I think either way it would be tough with their current ages 7 & 6. But I don't want to wait too long.

spankswife I'm jealous of all of that, except the 3 day weekend which I also have, lol.
anyastroud I went to Disney the first time when I was 9 months old if that helps! I have an older sister though, plus it's fun for adults too! I think 7 and 6 are great ages to go to Disney. Old enough to really enjoy it and remember it but young enough that they aren't "too cool" for it yet (I went through that phase.. lol). How far of a drive would it be for you? Price wise it might end up being similar depending on gas but other than that it's up to you if you're up for a road trip with the kids. If you stay on property though, you can get the shuttle to the hotel (I'm sure other hotels do this too, I just know for sure the ones on property do) and just take the bus to/from the parks. SO easy unless you want to do things off property.
I hate my dog right now. She was hiding under our bed when I was putting E to sleep. I had *just* laid him down after an hour of nursing and rocking and pacing, and was sneaking out and she barked. And woke him up. I literally cried.

Haha, it was great! DD is 5, and DS is 4 mo. Luckily we live in FL, so we go at least once a year. 6&7 are probably great ages, otherwise definitely the next year or two. Where are you coming from? I'd probably want to fly too bc it's faster. I'm sure they'd be fine on a plane. The anticipation is always worse than the flight! If it makes it cost prohibitive, driving would be fine! Then you'd have a car if you wanted. We stay at value resorts, and don't go spring break/summer/Xmas. It makes it not only more affordable, but more enjoyable.

HUGE ((hugs)) pooh8402 That is the absolute worst...I get super ragey when DH makes any kind of noise that *might* wake C up once he's asleep. Hope you can get E back to sleep without too much effort.
estrellita- sounds like you guys have made a ton of progress on the new house already! Hope you have a fun time tonight and are able to get a lot done tomorrow before E comes back!
We went looking at houses today! It was actually a really good thing...DH has been eyeing this one that is so over-priced and somewhat too small but in a nice neighborhood. Well said neighborhood is also similar to our current situation where I can't walk to anything and is a good drive just to go to the grocery store (we are looking for way more convenience to the stores we tend to go to vs. 40+ min round trip to anything...and I would love to be able to walk to Starbucks or something similar, although that's not a dealbreaker). Anyways, that house is now out of our potential options and we are narrowed in on some other neighborhoods we likely would not have considered had we not talked to this realtor at an open house today (which, we loved their house! Too bad DH doesn't want to move yet). So, moving forward very slowly on moving! We are going to get in touch with our lender from our home to get pre-approved and have a talk/get advice from our realtor and then go from there.
DH went to sleep an hour ago so I've been watching Big Bang Theory on my computer and folding laundry. We are getting the house appraised tomorrow (never expected to get it set up that fast!) so trying to at least get some stuff put away since we don't have time to finish projects.
I'm so curious to see what our house value comes back at. (We are taking an equity loan out, I'm not moving anywhere!)
estrellita how are you painting/decorating his room?
luv2rn4fun house hunting. How fun! Will you be sad to leave this current house, or are you not too attached? Will you still be wanting a pool? I highly highly recommend being walkable, even if you extend your budget slightly or look longer. I never fathomed how much I would use walkability, but we hardly drive in our neighborhood. Between the stroller and bike cart we can still take M anywhere we need within a few miles. It's so awesome!
pooh8402 I hope he went back to sleep quickly and the night wasn't too rough
amaranth we repainted the wainscoting on the bottom a slightly off white (we had to cover the bad paint job over the black it was painted at one point) and the top is going to be a blue. It's the next darker blue on the pic I posted the other night.

I will miss our neighbors and I love our house but not the city. We want a pool but it's not a dealbreaker (maybe it's something we can do ourselves when the kid(s) are older). I would prefer a community with a pool so we don't have the cost of upkeep, etc but still the benefit of having a pool. And an HOA cost doesn't bother me (within reason) after dealing with our next door neighbor...might be nice to have that guaranteed protection. Funny thing is that walkability it actually more house for the same amount of money. The price per square foot goes up away from the major shopping areas because it's in the foothills. I think walkability is going to be important, especially considering we want another kid in the next 1-2 years...one of the hardest parts of where we live is that everything is so far away (grocery store is 10 min one way and major shopping is 20 min one way) and there's not enough time to do these errands during C's short awake time (between feedings, driving, errands, etc). It's been very frustrating feeling like there's nothing to do except go to the park or our pool (and the park isn't an option most days in the summer). If we live in walking distance the new baby (hypothetical) could nap in the baby carrier while we did errands or just got out of the house.
Update, it took another hour to get him to sleep and stay that way. I got him down at 9pm. And he stayed asleep until 4am! Holy crap! My boobs woke me up, I had to pump, then he woke up right after I pumped.
pooh8402- that would make me upset too. Hopefully that doesn't happen again.
That's not the first time it's happened and it won't be the last until we can block off the area under our bed so she won't hide there, or until DS is in his own room, which I don't see happening anytime soon.

Hopefully you can figure out some way to block that area.
