I have a bridal shower this weekend. The couple has lived together for years so they didn't register anywhere traditional. The shower invite said bring something to stock the bar. I asked the groom what alcohol the bride likes and he suggested a favorite bourbon of hers. Any cute packaging ideas? Or cheap stuff I could throw in a basket with it?
How about a wooden crate filled with those crinkled brown paper things instead of tissue paper? Add a ribbon, some glasses or bar accessory, and bam, pretty gift.
Maybe throw in a drink recipe book? Or a monogrammed shaker?
Unrelated to bourbon, but I was at a bridal shower over the spring and someone did a basket of wine to celebrate milestones during the first year of marriage. It had first New Years, Valentine's Day, anniversary, and I think birthdays.

That's a cute idea!
We received a bottle of Patron at our wedding and we took a shot from it each week afterwards. It was a fun way to celebrate.
Wine charms for the wine glasses!!! You can get them all over the internet with pictures of places they've traveled, hobbies they enjoy....there is an unlimited number of them out there. They aren't that expensive either. I also like the idea of the drink recipe book. I have one I have used in the past.
I like the basket with the alcohol and some glasses.
When we moved right after our wedding to a town 20 hrs away the rental agency we rented from left a bottle of champagne and 2 nice glasses on the kitchen counter. It was really sweet coming from a company like that. (We rented from them in the past when we lived in that town previously, and they liked us.)

wanderingenough - I think that's a great gift! I agree with your choice to go with the bourbon that you know she'll like versus a cheaper one so that you can include more accessories.
It's cute! I'd probably take the tag off the towel though. It's clearly new, but the tag detracts from the aesthetic appeal. For something that small I can't imagine her returning it.
