I'm 95% sure DS has an ear infection. I thought he might have one on Saturday and asked H what he thought, but he didn't really think so and I forgot about it. Now I feel fucking awful that he's been sick all week.
Anyway, I can't put him down. I've tried several times and he flips out every time I do. I think I've resigned myself to holding and rocking him all night.
The thought of taking him to the ER crossed my mind earlier. That's probably crazy, right? Poor dude keeps waking up and tugging on his ear.
The past week DD has been up almost all night. She has never done this even as an infant. I think I need to look into sleep training - I don't even know when to start. She's six months.
H just wants me to nurse her in the MOTN (I think selfishly on his part so that she'll just go back to sleep). But this girl was sleeping 11 hours back at 3 months- she definitely does not need to eat at night. She is not going through a growth spurt.
I am sorry. Poor dude. I would just call pedi in mooring. Can you give motrin or Tylenol?
Yep. He's due for more Tylenol in 20 minutes. Can't give him Motrin for another month. I'll try putting him down once I've got this next dose in him. And I'll be calling the pedi promptly at 8am. I really hope they can get him in first thing.

Nursing DS MOTN is the least peaceful thing ever. He is so noisy and after I always want to cuddle and he just wants to be squirmy and make gremlin noises until I give up and put him in his crib. Such a baby weirdo.
Up pumping and I just want to go to sleep. I have a feeling DD will wake up and want to eat when I'm done because she starting to stir now. Last night I let DH sleep through one of the feedings and, as long as she cane wait for a few mins, I'll let him sleep through this one. He's so backed up at work and I know the sleep schedule isn't helping!

My son started eating a lot MOTN at 5 months. And I think he was really hungry. It last 1-1.5 months. He's sleeping more this week finally.
Grr. I pumped for a whole episode of Madame Secretary and I think I only got 1.5 ounces. Reading the EP forum on the other board makes me so jealous. Every single person in the check in gets 30+ ounces per day. FML
I'm up with the pukey baby..,the one who shit all over the bathtub earlier. Poor thing is so hot and miserable. Tylenol and Advil are only working for a few hours and they're wearing off before its ok to do another dose.
We had the same experience as @kcpokergal. Beginning at 5 months, he frequently woke (and still wakes) at 2:30 for a bottle. Occasionally a paci suffices, but if it doesn't quiet him right down, I can tell that nothing is going to get him to go back to sleep until he gets a bottle. And when I give it to him, he sucks it down like he hasn't seen a bottle in days. I hadn't wanted to go back to feeding MOTN, but I figure I can STTN too, but sometimes I still wake up wanting a glass of water. One thing that stops the MOTN wake up for us is a dream feed when we go to bed, but it wakes him up frequently enough that I just prefer a really fast 2:30 bottle rather than risking a wide awake kid at 10:30 pm.

I really regret being stubborn and refusing to feed DS in the MOTN. He STTN from 6 weeks to 4 months. When he started waking MOTN at 4 months I refused to nurse him b/c "he didn't NEED to eat, he used to STTN!" He started waking more and more, it was awful. I really regret being so stubborn, he may have really needed to eat. Either b/c of a growth spurt, or teething, or just needed comfort. I made the choice to feed DD when she woke up, and at 6 months old now she's a much better sleeper than DS was. Probably b/c she's FULL!
I would re-think this attitude IMHO. Baby's needs are in constant flux. How do you *know* she's not going through a growth spurt? Or maybe she's getting sick? Or maybe she's still a little baby she's just hungry. Honestly, if a quick feed MOTN will fix the waking, that's much easier and quicker than doing sleep training. Just try feeding her, you might find it only lasts a week or two and she goes back to STTN.
My H got home from a business trip at 3:30 last night after a delayed flight. I was up feeding DS. He kept trying to talk to me and touch the baby while I was trying to get the baby back to sleep. Grrrr. I was so annoyed. Then he started snoring and I was awake until 5. And of course DS started crying at 6. I wish his flight was just cancelled and he came home today instead.
