In my defense, they are a replacement for my go-to winter, casual shoes to wear with jeans. These were 10 years old. I loved them b/c I could polish them up and they still looked great. But alas, I decided it was time for them to go.
Add me to the fugly shoe club. I also have really wide feet and the only sandals that I can get to fit my wide feet with high instep and high arches are Birkenstocks - I have 5 pair in different colours. (I also have a pair of Birkenstock clogs).
But, I'm 58 and officially a "hippy" - I have worn Birks for over 40 years ;D

I'll be wearing my BareTraps into work today, same shape toe and same heel--I have a long day ahead of me and frankly comfort means more to me than style. But I'm a confirmed Fugly Shoe Wearer.
I despise that, to be fashionable, women are expected to wear shoes that mess up our bodies (foot shape, use of toes, posture, etc.). My health is way more important to me than your opinion about my fashion choices.
Signed, Another proud wearer of Danskos, Clarks, Birkenstocks, and even Vibram 5-fingers (those 5-toed running shoes)
ooh...bad :-\ I wear size 12. I understand it can be difficult to find cute shoes, but many designers carry 11s & 12s, and cute inserts can make them more comfortable.
