I'm considering starting this fall instead of next fall. I just can't get myself to pull the trigger quite yet. After 8+ months of no studying, I'm really not excited about starting up again, but I don't want to put it off forever either.

The sooner you do it the better. Not sure how far you are into your career but I spent 8 years in public and saw time and again that people waited too long and then just didn't do it and left to do something else.
I'm working on becoming one. Have you heard of another71.com? Their forums are a great resource.
Eta: if I were you, I would be rushing to start the exams ASAP. There are going to be some major changes that take effect in 2017. I would not want to be a guinea pig for it. I imagine it will be much more difficult to pass.

Get it done! A lot has changed since I passed though, so I haven't kept current on the testing.
We have people at my firm that have kept an active section going for 5+ years. I can't even imagine the time, energy, and money spent on passing, having credits, losing credits to time, and keeping on that cycle. It was mentally exhausting to study after work 6 days a week, but it's amazing to just be done and have it over with.
