I don't know what I'm looking for. It looks like we are back to square one with needing my shunt externalized and replaced. I can't even. I don't have sick time. I have so many bills. I just feel like such a failure. We will lose health insurance. My poor child. I'm not looking for sympathy or anything. Just wanted to let you know.
Ask to speak to the hospital social worker. Ask them what programs are available out there for assistance. Take advantage of everything she provides you.
This is NOT your fault. You are NOT a failure. (Please read that again and again.)
Your daughter is learning so much from this. You are not failing her. Of course, no one would choose for a child to have a sick parent, but she is learning resilience, grace in tough times, valuing family over possessions, helping others and the importance of supporting friends & family, and the list goes on and on. She will be OK.
Sending you lots of hugs, good thoughts, and prayers.

Right now we don't pay for health insurance because DH and my portions cancel each other out having the same employer. They will start taking insurance from his salary. He makes about 1/3 if what I do as is. Now I will make nothing and he will make considerably less.
Last year they allowed someone to give me sick time even though our contract doesn't allow that. I can pray they allow that again, but when is enough, enough?

Good!
i tell my students often- you have to be proud of the things you ARE doing. And cut yourself some slack, you are doing the BEST you can. Find peace in that.
Do you have an option of getting a second opinion on this stuff? Is there anything out there- experimental, etc- that provides a longer-term solution than what you have now?

I have tried researching and haven't found much. Right now the problem is a nasty infection in my blood that evidently I have had before.
I'm sorry. You are NOT a failure. This is beyond your control. You have had such a rough time. I'm sending lots of good thoughts your way and hoping this is resolved sometime soon.
I am so sorry. None of this is your fault, NONE. So many hugs and prayers for you. Concentrate on getting better right now, these other issues can be dealt with at some other time.
