DH has been home & unable to work since he finished radiation last Tuesday. He's out of PTO so it's been unpaid. His boss called yesterday & told him management had donated their PTO & he needed to call corporate HR to finish the transfer.
Three of them donated 5 days each! So amazing. He makes more than me, so it's pretty rough when he's not working. I totally cried when he told me.
Yay!! How generous of them. When I was sick, I was able to get donated leave. My mom was about to retire from the gov't so she donated 104 hours to me before she retired. It was a big red tape mess but it helped us so much.
Not great, mostly because the people at my job are being total dicks lately. Its giving me both anxiety and rage issues. But DH thinks he's on the upswing now, so that's pretty awesome.

That *is* pretty awesome.
I'm glad at least one of you works with good people. I hope you are enjoying the cooler evenings in that beautiful backyard of yours.
That's awesome! My H has been out of work since his surgery in May (thank goodness for CA's long term disability) and a couple of folks in his office have donated over a weeks worth of PTO to him and it's so amazing. If you don't mind my asking, what kind of cancer does your H have? Chris starts radiation on Monday for his colon cancer and I'm a little nervous about how he's going to handle it. The infusions have been rough so I'm hoping that the radiation will be easier on him.

He has a rare type called pheochromacytoma/paraganlioma. 7 cases diagnosed per million each year and of those only 2% ever metastasize (lucky us!).
Radiation wasn't rough to start, he drove himself to all the session (only had 10 total) but the side effects peaked about 5 days after he finished. But the past week & a half has been pretty bad. He says he thinks Cisplatin was maybe worse though. His radiation was for a tumor in his pelvis & one in his intestines, he says buy some Immodium now.
