I can't open this for some reason, but found another article that said it was a 0.5% increase but is being delayed until spring. How do federal workers feel about that?

So if I have this right...if The Idiots in Congress don't pass the CR, DH might not have a job Oct 1. If they pass the promised CR, DH gets a whopping .5% increase in April (so ~$560 total, which will cover ~2 months of his recently increased commuting costs after his taxes are taken out of it). Yipee-fucking-skippy.
I'm just waiting for the Federal-haters to get pissy about Feds getting a "raise" when the economy is still bad.
Seriously though, I'm wondering if this is viewed as a good thing or bad thing for Obama outside of the DC/Fed bubble.
I thought the CR was passed before the August recess? At least that is true here. First time in my 11 years we've gone into September knowing what October would look like.
Frankly, at this point I've forgotten about a raise. I fought for my WGI last Dec (they messed up my WGI due date), and figured that was all I got for awhile.

I'm less than thrilled. However, I THINK my DH might have 1 more step promotion this year? (don't know, always get confused between 2 & 3 - I think it's still 1 year. I think it's 3 - 4 that becomes 2 yrs).
I have to say that I'm not surprised but find it frustrating. Someone thinks the cost of living is going up, as evidenced by projected the COLA for social security for 2013, yet we've been without a COLA for a few years now.
Some of the articles I've read also suggest that the freezing of federal pay allows for continued tax breaks to the general public, etc. I don't know if it's true or not, but is food for thought.
Though it would be nice to get a COLA at some point....
Looks like I was wrong about the CR. there was an agreement, but it hasn't passed. I knew it was too good to be true. We are still acting like its given what our money is on Oct 1. For whatever that is worth.
