I would plop him in the crib with some toys/board books, turn some white noise on and close the door.
Doesn't work!
Ugh we just did CIO with a two year old. Brutal. BRUTAL!!!
He finally wore himself out, but this is the fourth or fifth night of refusing bedtime. If things don't get better in the next few days, we might try the bed transition.
1 year old CIO was hard so I can only imagine doing it with a 2 year old...Wish I had a solution for you!
I must have a more active lifestyle than I thought. I mean I put in plenty of seat time so don't get worried! A normal day for me is 8-9,000 steps. A working day is definitely 9,000 and up. I probably hit 10,000 steps without trying about 4-5 days a week. Maybe this is why I'm so tired at night!!

I totally expected that I'd have more steps on a work day due to walking to fill my water and go to the bathroom several times a day. Apparently I was completely overestimating how many steps it was.
I contemplated walking on the treadmill tonight to get more steps, so the Fitbit is almost doing its job to motivate me. Almost.

First bath when baby girl didn't cry during or after! Got her in jammies and all swaddled, topped her off with a few minutes of nursing and she zonked out. Bliss!
We celebrated my birthday tonight since DH leaves tomorrow for 10 days. His line of thinking is so funny to me.
One of my gifts was 2 North Face sweatshirts. I love the ones I have as they're thin and a wicking type material. So he bought me a new color. Except he bought it in 2 sizes. Why 2 sizes? "One will fit you when you're not pregnant and probably still right now and the other is for when your belly is too big and then you'll still have one you can wear." I mean it's thoughtful and cute but *-) really? You could have found a maternity sweatshirt for a lot cheaper! Oh well, it's thoughtful of him and he picked out some great presents for me so I'm not complaining.

Oh no page. Feel better soon. I am fighting allergies/a cold and can't fall asleep the last three nights without having like a 45 minute long coughing fit. Good times.
I have had a cough for almost a week and I have been toughing it out, but it's kicking my ass. At this point it's morphed into a legit asthma attack.
The worst part is H is out at a rare work dinner (I normally have yoga Wednesdays and I stayed home tonight so he could do this thing, which he really NEVER asks me to do) and I just had to text him to not linger and please come home soon because I am sick. I actually called a friend to have her listen to me breathe and help me decide whether I need to go to urgent care.
Ugh you guys.
page If you need a ride or someone to watch the kids, feel free to reach out! I'm happy to help.
You are completely amazing. Thank you. (heart)
I have dosed myself up on my inhalers and I have the kids to bed, and H just texted that he's on his way home. I think I will be OK for the night. But I am definitely calling the doc right away tomorrow and getting in as soon as I can.
We're watching Application. Msniq is in it for the academic politics. I'm in it for the ivy league bullshit. This is great.
Also it has Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, so I hope page has watched it already.
I thought that movie would be the stuff that all my dreams are made of AND MORE!!! but it was really kind of meh.
Not bad on the eyes though.
ETA Actually it was all the academic politics that turned me off about it. Perhaps I have still not recovered from my failed attempt at getting a Ph.D. 10 years ago. lol.

This was me last night. It was a crazy cough fest until 1 AM. I am honestly shocked that H didn't kick me out of bed, or move to the guest room himself.
I ended up taking a second dose of my hardcore cough syrup with codeine in it after the first one hadn't kicked in in over 90 minutes.

Had my annual physical today with my PCP. We were talking about my general health since weaning DS in June (and the 12 freaking pounds I've packed on since my last visit!). I casually mentioned that we were probably going to try for another child after the 1st of the year. She said "well, yah, I wouldn't wait much longer..."
As if I don't have enough anxiety about a second child, go ahead and make me feel worse! Yes, I know I'll be 37 at the time, but it's not like that's such a ridiculous age to have a second baby, right? It's just the complete opposite reaction that my OB would have, which is why I still prefer her over every other doctor I've ever had in my life!

We liked it! I think we were both expecting something more light hearted. Less bad stuff happening to Tina Fey, more comeuppance for Professor Douche Canoe and his hussie.

I was 37 when I had my first and will be pushing 40 if I decide to have a second, so in my eyes you're ahead of the game having a second at 37!

farmvillelover I hate doing it, but we can see that he's not hurt and he's not sick, he just doesn't want to sleep, so we feel like it's the only way to get him out of that expecation of DH coming up to sleep on the floor with him every night.
