It's past 6:00 CST, so fair game for an evening thread. What's everyone up to tonight?
When I dropped DD off at MDO this morning, there was another little girl crying for her mom. DD got a little teary as I said goodbye (very unlike her, since she normally has no problem with separation anxiety). When I picked her up, the lead teacher told me that DD gave the crying girl a hug and kept saying that "grownups come back" and "Lucy's okay! You're okay!"
My hugely pregnant self can barely handle the sweetness. She's going to be a great big sister.
We had a good day. I tried on all the clothes I bought yesterday and loooove the Target tunics. I actually like the thinner scoop neck ones better than the cowl neck but bought both. Did some laundry and even put it away! Had a good work meeting at my house. Then got a mani and pedi, while DD slept the entire time.
After he puts DS to bed, DH is going to run out and get pulled pork bbq from this great place for dinner. I reeeeally need to research casseroles and crock pot recipes...

I got impressions of dd's hand and foot prints done at my mom's neighbors house today. They are done in clay and fired/sealed and she paints them really pretty.
So now I'm just chilling at my parents house and going to stay for dinner so I can avoid more solo parenting. DH gets home right before bedtime tonight though, so at least I won't have to bathe and put the boys to bed while wearing DD like I did last night.
My kids were being total assholes, so I reheated leftovers and fed them a metric ton of strawberries with it. They are happily and most importantly quietly eating while watching Mickey Mouse. I'm drinking a beer. God, that was a good idea. The little one wouldn't stop licking the older one.
This is the one I like most and I see they have many more colors than I saw in store so I may have to order more online. I got black and burgundy. m.target.com/p/mb-crew-pullover/-/A-17095170

Ugh, DD had another "stormy" day at dc today. Apparently was hitting and snatching. We sat her down when we got home, and I seriously teared up because: 1) are we raising an asshole? And 2) we moved her and I feel like this behavior is my fault bc of that. We decided to do a sticker chart, and she earns stickers for being "sunny" and after five stickers will get a reward. I hope it works because she is really a wonderful kid and I hate to see her not live up to that.
DS had a meltdown because I only gave him 1 raspberry when we picked up our CSA basket tonight. He sobbed the entire way home and when I figured out what he wanted, he ate nearly half the container.

I managed both boys for most of the day (babysitter from 345-545) AND managed to cook a quick dinner (damndelicious korean beef). But after dinner I lost it Ds2 was screaming because he was hungry (even though he had eaten an hour ago) & tired. Ds1 wanted attention & needed to be put to bed. Thank god DH was home to help me. I'm scared about this time next week though. At least DS2 only watched an hour of TV?

I'll work on making a list of what i filled the freezer with if but you'll probably have to remind me to give it to you. #babybrain
We just got a credit card alert rooted in our trip back to my alma mater this weekend. The total matches but I'm going to go ahead and assume the bartender comped half the check after the fact to give himself a sweet tip. Fucking kids these days.

Just got a head's up from our realtor we're getting a strong offer soon!! And not from the people who were here tonight!
On the boo side I lost my right hand ring / push present from H. I think it may have come off at cfa when I was cleaning barf off my hands. I can't find anywhere in the house or my car. I'm really bummed.

Just lower your standards, for real. It helped my stress SO MUCH when I did that. Like, 2 hours of tv/ipad? SURE.
2 hours/day has been pretty standard around here lately. I kind of just let Ds1 run wild when I don't have the tv on.
I had the greatest day. Laid in the dark in the lower level (H hates being downstairs) and watched trash TV all morning. This afternoon I did laundry, made a ham, cheesy potatoes and squash. Kids ate like crazy and were so fun to play with tonight.
Tomorrow DC lady offered to take the kids since she's gone on Friday their usual day. I'm going to send DS and I think DD and I are going to have Mommy/DD day after PreK. I need to get a quick stop at the grocery store in, but then go to the coffee shop for lunch, probably let her pick out a small treat somewhere. Maybe art project when we get home. I think she needs it. Then she says to me, "Can I go to DC after PreK and see my friends?" Sure kid. Sure. Mommy will do all that alone. No problem.
Remind how easy my week was this week when I'm b*tching next week.

I went to H&M on my lunch today to try and find some new shirts that are not cardigans. Everything I tried on was horrendous. I seriously hate all clothes right now! But that Target tunic posted looks cute so I may go try that on. I am not happy with the way I look these days and am too lazy to do anything about it.

As I was getting ready to leave work this afternoon, daycare called saying M woke up with a fever. He seems fine otherwise, but of course we can't send him tomorrow. Not sure who will be staying home with him tomorrow.
My husband asked if I was ok with him working the entire weekend. I said no, wtf, this could be our last weekend as a family of three. I begrudgingly agreed to him working on Saturday (he has already been working really late every day this week). Hopefully my mom is able to help otherwise I will put you that are guilty over two hours of screen time to shame. It will be like 75%
Ds1 likes Pixar movies. I'm considering having "movie mornings" and saving Peppa Pig for the afternoons.

I forgot to pick up our produce share today. It's going to take a lot of willpower to get myself off the couch and walk the one block to get it in the next 25 minutes.

DD isn't so sleepy anymore at 4 weeks old and is getting to that point where she wakes up if I try to put her down if she's asleep during the day. Blah!

DD and I are going to American girl Place tomorrow. I am so excited! We're going to have lunch and just hang around the store looking at all the dolls, reading books, etc. She has a mild cold, so I hope she's feeling better tomorrow so we can fully enjoy the day. I also hope the pope visit doesn't make things difficult. he's coming to St. Patrick's cathedral later that evening (across the street from AG), but we should be gone by the time they shut down the area so hopefully we'll be okay.
