DD2 has been a mess since she got home from daycare at 5. I had to work late so DH had her and said she basically cried the entire time. It was so bad that he called me and asked me to come home. I got home at 7 and she had already had a bottle. I'm now nursing her for the third time in less than 3 hours. So far we've tried: Bouncing Shushing White noise Swaying Swing- front to back and sideways Bath Walking outside Music Bicycle legs Burping Swaddle Lying flat Rock n play Tummy time Lying on side Binkie Checking for hair wrapped around fingers, toes, etc Combinations of the above
They all seem to work temporarily. But in like 15 mins she's crying again. What am I forgetting?

This is what worked for me: -white noise on -tight swaddle (YouTube the escape proof swaddle) -sit down with your knees together and feet apart -baby in your lap their tummy facing you -pacifier - their head in 1 of your hands and the other hand on the top hip -wiggle your knees back and forth so their head jiggles a little -bend over and shush near their ear (louder than they are crying)

I would pick a technique and stick with it and hope she calms. I would swaddle her up tight, go in a dark room, crank up the white noise and just rock and rock her and shush in her ear and hope for the best.

My mom would strap me, my siblings & DS (when she babysat) in the car seat and put it on top of the dryer (turned on). She would sit in a chair next to it and hold the seat.
I've never done it (because our machines are stacked) but she SWEARS by it.
We don't have gripe water. She hates the car and her car seat. She's now asleep in my arms and giving me those sleepy smiles and giggles. Damn you baby and your tricks! namasteak I'm having a hell of a time picturing what you're describing lol
Also her cry doesn't seem like she's in pain. To be honest, she's not putting a whole lot of effort into it haha. But it's weird because when her eyes were open it was like she didn't see me if that makes sense. She just wanted to voice her dissatisfaction with the whole thing. She did poop about 30 minutes ago so I'm hoping that helped.
How long had she been awake? Ds used to get like that when he was overtired. The only thing that really worked was to swaddle tight, turn up the white noise and bounce until he finally fell asleep.

I'm not sure when her last nap was at daycare. I'm sure the daily sheet in downstairs somewhere. She has fallen asleep several times since 7:00 but keeps waking. DH said she was happy when he picked her up at 5:00 but started fussing when they got home. That's normal behavior though. Usually she takes a cat nap around 6 and is in bed by 7-7:30. FTR I think she's overtired and just too far gone at this point. DD1 was like this and the only thing that helped was Ferber at 5 months. I'm hoping tonight is just a fluke.

My reset for dd was swaddle then go in the bathroom turn on all the faucets & bathroom fan then turn off the lights. I would hold her tight upright and do deep knee bends while shushing in her ears. Or I would bring her outside. Something about the cold fresh air made her stop. Good luck! I hope she calms down and falls asleep soon. Hugs.

This, exactly, and I'll add to place her on her left side. Something to do with the digestive system. I'd place my hand, palm up, on one knee with DD's head in it, then my other hand, palm down, on her hip and lightly jiggle my leg that her hip was on but keep the one her head was on still. My DD was a colicky mess but this worked for us.

Out of curiosity, was your H adequately trying to soothe her in your absence? Not accusing him of anything, but my H was famous for doing as little as possible with DD and them claiming she cried the entire time I was gone even though he could have mitigated the crying. I am projecting here, I know. Lol. Glad she finally settled!

Who knows lol. But I do know that I've home for almost 4 hours and she's still at it. Not settled by the way. Wtf.

The magic position for us is facing out, one hand under the bum and one hand on her tummy, bouncing on the yoga ball, while playing really loud white noise. You can do it swaddled if that helps.
I just can't figure out why she keeps waking. I'm now nursing a 4th time. I gave gas drops. DH had her asleep on him for 20 mins. Then she woke screaming.
