I've been thinking lately that maybe I should be planning my outfits ahead of time instead of scrambling in the morning. I had a close call of almost being late to work this morning because I couldn't find the particular tank top I wanted to wear under my blouse today. I swear I'm like a 5 year old who can't find a matching pair of socks some days.
Do you plan your outfits ahead of time? The night before, or for the whole week? Do you physically put everything you need in the same place, or is it a more mental putting things together in your head? Walk me through it like the 5 year old I am.
When I have to be somewhere before 9am I lay my clothes out. It expedites things immensely even if I have an idea of what I want to wear. Some super organized people lay their outfits out for the week!
Yes, i do. It saves me so much time and stress in the mornings. I put out the clothes the night before for the next day, but I have a general idea in my head of what I am going to wear throughout the week.
During the school year yes. It's super helpful to just have it all there and planned out. When I don't do that I find myself scrambling to find something I want to wear.
Nope. I just think, oh I'll wear this, and if I can't find that (which doesn't happen often), I find something else that matches. It only takes me like a minute to get dressed in the morning.
I would pull out a couple things and hang them on the closet door, then make my final decision in the morning. Not having to stand there staring at the entire closet wondering what to wear was very helpful on days when I was (a) tired and (b) not in the mood to go to work.

I don't do it for myself but sometimes I do for DS. It does save time. I select the entire outfit (shirt, shorts, socks) & put it on the dresser so it's ready to go when we wake up.

I don't get what takes so long.
For me it's not that it takes too long, I just want to know what I am wearing so I don't go through the "I have nothing to wear" BS in the morning.
I had a public meeting for work on Monday for which we all had to wear a company shirt with slacks. It was so nice not to have to choose something to wear in the morning -- I was actually early to work! I can definitely see the benefits of choosing clothes the night before.
Of course, even though I realize how nice it was on Monday, I haven't done it since then.
I iron on Sunday evenings for the next week or two and then put all of the outfits in the same area in my closet. That way I have ironed options ready to go.
No, because I have three pairs of identical jeans and 12 v-neck t-shirts in different colors that I wear every day. All I do is grab one of each and get dressed.
I would probably lay my clothes out if I worked somewhere that required business attire.

No. I pick out what I'm going to wear and lay it on the bed right before I get in the shower in the morning. On rare occasions when I think of something specific I want to wear the day before I might check to make sure it is steamed/pressed, or that shoes are shined.
I try to plan them for the whole week, on Sunday; make sure I've got enough pantyhose, clean trouser socks, polished shoes, stuff ironed. I hate digging around for something to wear.

Ugh, I get the "I have nothing to weaaaaar" feeling on a regular basis. It's frustrating since in reality I have SO MUCH CLOTHES.
I try to have a general idea of what I want to wear, or what's available and clean, the night before. But I don't lay it out.
But if I have a job interview or an important event the next day, then yes, I lay out my outfit and shoes and I make sure my purse/bag is packed (resume, portfolio, travel info, etc.).

If I have to be dressed early, then yes I lay clothes out the night before.
I almost always put clothes out for the girls (or, with #1, ask her to choose an outfit) because then in the AM at some point I can just tell them to go get dressed and there's no drama about "what will I wear today?".

I go to the gym in the mornings before work. The night before I will pack my gym back with my work clothes for the next day. I will also lay out my gym clothes in the bathroom (I force myself to go pee when the alarm goes off, and I always convince myself to get dressed while I'm peeing).
In the morning, I get up, put on gym clothes, grab my bag and head out the door.
yes, I pull what I want to wear and hang it on the closet door the night before.
I pick out DDs clothes for the week on Sunday and put them in a hanging thing that we have in one of the closests to separate them by day- it helps tremendously to have everything ready for them

Yes, but only because I would stand there in front of my closet trying to figure out what to wear.
I have these heavy duty wooden hangers and I hang up the entire outfit, appropriate underthings (camis/right color bra for the shirt I'm wearing), jewelry and socks/hosiery for the day.
I do this on a daily basis, not the entire week at one time.
