Found out yesterday that a former colleague, who is one of the nicest, most generous people I've had the pleasure of working with, is in hospice and is not expected to live through the weekend. She's in her early 40s and has an aggressive form of cancer. I cried when I got the news - cancer sucks.

A few weeks ago, my work group went to happy hour at a burger place (Grub Burger Bar, if you have one near you.) One guy ended up talking to a manager, who invited us to come back and they'd set us up with a whole sampler spread so we could try everything on the menu. We're going after work today.
I did some extra cardio and wore stretchy leggings. I am ready.
Two nights ago I had a sexy dream about a fitness blogger I follow. I was his sidepiece, and his wife didn't know. I am in no way attracted to this dude, so I'm not sure what all it was about.
I had the same dream last night.
STOPPIT BRAIN! At least dream of someone attractive!
Apple Maps is still a colossal piece of shit. It just took me to the wrong place for a doctor's appointment and I wound up getting to the right location (thanks to Google Maps) 15 minutes late, which in many practices can cause the loss of the appointment slot.
I love Apple products but I will never use this shitty app again.

Google Maps was the first app I downloaded to my work phone (and iphone) for this exact reason. I don't understand how it can be so wrong so often. but it is.
Have a friend who is recently on dialysis. We're getting together with him and other friends this weekend; for the purpose of cheering him up. We were originally going to go on a hike & picnic, but one friend broke a toe, so thinking of having everyone over for a barbecue. I have to go to the grocery store today and don't know what food to serve (for picnic or bbq) so that everyone's happy, and our diabetic friend has tasty, healthy options, and is not feeling left out.
I just bought a bunch of tops for Fall. They're needed, but I feel sort of guilty for spending the money for some reason. Not sure why as money isn't an issue, probably residual guilt from buying an much un-needed pair of earrings yesterday.
So sorry to hear about your colleague charminglife, early forties is much too young.
Congrats to your H on the new job jln, but boo to him being gone for stretches at a time.
Yikes tres3, do you have any idea how long the tick was there? Good thing you checked though!

People need to stop walking into my office AND coming around my desk so they may see my computer screen. I have peoples private business up 95% of the time, STOP IT.

Had the best medical experience ever this morning.
I called the dermatologist yesterday for an appt. They had an opening today at 11. I went in, the dr did a full scan which is the reason, but I wanted to discuss getting a couple moles removed. He was like "I'll do them now, won't go to insurance, but I charge $200). Done. I was in and out in 50 minutes.

Some of you may remember the bad rescue we had a hand in shutting down. Well the vet for the "rescue" is in the news again. This time for yet another "rescue" going down in flames. He's trying to make himself look like the victim and all selfless. I think I heard something pop in my head from my blood pressure rising so fast.

Oh, fuck! I just now remembered that I forgot to cancel my doctor's appt for this am. I made it yesterday for the pink eye, but ended up going to a quick clinic instead. I suck.
H is going to be gone this weekend. I love him and all but I am looking forward to spending two days on the couch with the dog watching Netflix.
I am excited to make dinners incorporating ingredients that he hates. Annoyingly, he hasn't decided whether to leave Friday night or Saturday morning. Stop messing with my meal planning, jerk!

That's awesome I know how hard it can be t get into dermatologists.
My sister told me a of this website/app called Zocdoc, that shows you specialties that have openings. She was able to call for and get next-day appointments to see specialists she's never seen before.
I dreamed I entered Canada without a passport and then couldn't figure out how I was getting back into the US and I didn't want to call my mama because she would fuss at me because I knew I didn't have my passport when I crossed the border but was like, eh. So I crashed a random party. Then I woke up.

about 7 years ago DH & I were in detroit for a conference & just want to drive to canada for giggles. I *swear* there was a huge banner just before the tunnel that said " NO PASSPORT NEEDED". The Canadian police questioned us a bit- they didn't seem to understand why the heck we wanted to go to Canada. We couldn't even find a bar worth stopping at to have a drink...
Needless to say, the US folks weren't too thrilled when we came back without passports. We got yelled at, had to stop, go inside, pull up our global entry on teh computer, and got a stern lecture.

I'm amazed that there are grown adults (under 50) who have no idea how to use google maps, find stores/restaurants around them, or use for directions. I swear I use it multiple times per day & can't imagine life without it. Although I will say Google maps has been a little crappy lately- I'm not sure what's up with it.

Cicerofrlcb1234FIF! you guys are going to be through with me. I need something signed by a company officer, so I went into our travel system( I am an Admin, I know this shocks you) to see when my big boss ( General Counsel) is flying back from England. Turns out he is taking the exact same VS flight I took back from LHR( which surprised me because our office is in Manchester) . I just emailed him and told him he needs go to the Virgin Clubhouse in Heathrow as a personal favor to me. I am not ashamed.......
