I am getting Prime today since there is a discount, and I saw that Amazon has its own credit card. There is like 3% on all Amazon purchases, 2% on gas and restaurants, and 1% on other stuff.
I only have a cc through BofA and I don't feel like I get enough rewards on it. When I was married we had a Capital 1 card and used all of our points on stuff at BestBuy and for travel. It worked out well because we paid it off every month. I would do the same with this card, but I am worried about opening a new card.
I plan on buying a house within the next year so I don't want to negatively affect my credit. I can probably open it, and if I don't like it I can just pay it off and keep it open until I get my house right?

We have it. It's the only CC we use. We only use it for big purchases and prime and pay it off right away and we get good points. As long as it's paid off, it should help your credit, even if it's open and unused, as I understand things.
I have one. I use it frequently, and cash out the points quite often either through cash back or use them to pay for the ridiculous amounts of stuff I buy on Amazon.

We have one. It isn't our only card (we like to get Amex Delta points too, and each have our own Amex so we can double up on the companion tickets we get), but I put all my amazon purchases on it, and then use my points for Christmas presents or other gifts I'm sending to people (niece, mom, whatever). I get about half the girls' Christmas presents with my points, so it definitely makes a difference.
It's my main card. I also have an Amex that gets 6% back on groceries and 3% on gas, so I use it for both of those things.
I like getting the Amazon points and like others, I get "bonus" points sometimes. I use the points to get things for myself that I wouldn't otherwise get - like, a new diaper bag just because I want one, not because I need one.

I used to use them to buy Amazon stuff, and then I realized I was losing the 3% cash back on those purchases every time I did it. The statement credit is always a better deal.
