When I think of yoga pants, I think of tight stretchy bootcut pants, which aren't exactly the kind of pants I like to wear to lounge around the house.
Has "yoga pants" become a term for, I don't know, dressier sweatpants, similar to "lounge pants," as to distinguish them from the cuffed sweatpants of yesteryear, or are so many of you literally wearing yoga pants?
Because they still all count as sweats to me. I just prefer not to have to wear a thong with mine.
Mine aren't skin tight, but they're called "yoga pants". I have one pair with the foldover waist, and one pair that's more of a stretchy running pant (straight leg vs. bootcut).

I have a couple pairs that are actual yoga pants just with wider legs, a couple pairs that are just cute sweats, and a pair of tight running leggings that I alternate.
I also wear pj pants around the house too. But I don't use them on the elliptical or outside of the house. Ever. Not even to get the mail. I can't do it. I just can't.
Are these considered real yoga pants? I mean, that's what they're sold as but I don't do yoga so how the hell should I know? lol Anyway, I wear this kind and they're amazingly comfortable.
I love the Costco brand yoga pants. Since I do not do the yoga, I don't care about rocking it Kirkland style. They are like $18 and very similar to lululemon (IMO).
I have a pair that are more straight legged (I guess?) and a maternity pair that are boot cut. I also have a couple of pairs of lounge pants that are like a jersey knit material. I also like guachos.

They are a pretty good replica! I'm a Lululemon nut but I bought a pair of the Kirkland ones a few months ago and they are equally comfortable and durable. (I just wish they were a bit longer; their "Long" size is shorter than LLL's.)
Yup, mine are just like you described too. I just get them at Kohls, they're nothing fancy at all and super comfy. Sweats pants end up making me too hot, even in the winter, when I'm in my house.
