Everything I'm finding online kind of sucks. Apparently boys can only be superheroes or Ninja Turtles.
C changes his mind every day so I'm just going to buy something and go with it. I would like P to coordinate. I would prefer to buy something but am moderately crafty and have a sewing machine that I can sew straight lines on.
DS is being a firefighter. Costco had cute (non-superhero) costumes locally (police officer, fire fighter, one other I'm forgetting...). Barnes & Noble was also stocking similar items.

What about a firefighter and Dalmatian puppy?
I like this idea, M is going to be a fireman this year.

I let my almost 4 year old pick his costume this year. He chose ironman. . Of course my oldest DD chose to be a teenaged mutant ninja turtle.
When he was almost 12 months he was a groom (oldest DD was a bride). He had a suit from my brothers wedding so free.
When he was almost 2 he was a music video director (oldest DD was a rock star). I put the word director onto a plain black tee and bought him the board thing that directors use. Altogether it was like $5.
Last year he was a skeleton ($4 shirt from wal Mary and $1 gloves from the grocery store).
We cleared out the plush costumes on clearance at Target last year: monster, shark, lion, cow. DD has a monster costume from Costco that kind of matches the one from Target, so I'll try and convince them to match. But I think DS wants the skeleton.

What about a farmer and a cow? Older in overalls and plaid shirt and a straw hat. Youngest in white onsie with black spots pinned or sewn on.
Robot and mad scientist? Box covered in tin foil For oldest . White onsie with drawings in it to make it look like a lab coat for youngest. Maybe fake glasses?
Werewolves? Plaid shirts and jeans. Furry gloves and a furry hat?

My boys were Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc last year. DS1 wanted to be a monster and I didn't want to repeat his monster costume from the previous year. Plus, DS2 was only a few days old and you can buy those Mike Wazowski onesies which was easy.
@brie2012 my kids are a 5T and size 9 months. We're doing M&D cowboy costume and hopefully a horse or cow for DD, if I can find one. DS loves his other M&D costumes, so I'm going to keep buying those for as long as they'll fit. Same price as a store-bought Halloween costume but better quality.
We are going super cheap and easy this year. We are traveling to Disney on Halloween this year so the kids will just be wearing it to the local zoo event and H's work event.
J is going to be a hotdog and the girls are going to be ketchup packets.

A was a lion, shark, Chris Kratt in lion power, and a cheetah. I know she is a girl, but her costumes were pretty gender neutral/boy. Max was a dragon, a lion, and is super excited about being a pirate.
