Quite a few ppl said they likes this book in the last book thread. I've started it and cannot get into it. I'm only 9% done. Does it get better? Did you like it instantly?

I was intrigued as soon as she traveled back (don't think that's a spoiler?), but I didn't really like it until a little over halfway through. It does get more interesting before that, as in exciting stuff happens, but I didn't actually care about either of them until a certain point.
But having read 6 of them now, eh, I wouldn't necessarily commit. They are LONG. And there are much shorter books/series with sexy dudes in kilts

It's a long, slow start. All her big books are, IMO. I picked the book up and didn't get through the first couple chapters a few times. Then one time I pushed past that intro part, and I was immediately hooked.
I say give it until she travels through the stones (not a spoiler, right? Since that's sort of in the description of the book?). It picks up some then, but it really gets can't-put-it-down-must-stay-up-all-night-reading good about halfway through.
I agree if you still aren't into it after a certain pivotal moment about halfway through, then it's not worth slogging through the rest.
It took me about 250 pages before I was hooked, but it became one of my favorite series. If you like audiobooks, this is a good series to listen to because Devina Porter is an excellent narrator.
yes, it's a slow start, but you will not regret continuing. this is my absolute favorite series, even more so than Harry Potter. and that's saying something.
