Final Update: I just got off the phone with the Board and they agreed to my counter offer! Confirmation email today and contract by the end of this week. Done deal! I start December 7.
Holy cow!!!!!!!
---------
Since the last one was apparently good luck?
Interview was at 8:30am yesterday. They asked some really great questions which I think I handled well. I think the only downside for me is that I can't start in the job until mid-Decemer. I said I could start working remotely November 1. As quickly as they move, I honestly expect that if I'm getting an offer, it will happen before tomorrow.
------
Finally! Help me negotiate. I feel like I'm at a disadvantage since I'm nearly 9 weeks pregnant.
Community details: VLCOL. H making enough for me to not have to work. I would be the executive director of a non-profit organization focused on community economic development.
PDQ the specifics:
Compensation: $40k +$500/ month to put towards whichever benefits I want.
Leave: 2 weeks paid + 1 additional week unpaid.
A start date that works with my moving timeline.
So... I need to negotiate a maternity leave. How much (unpaid) time do I request and how do I phrase it?
-----
Update 2: I emailed the hiring person last night and asked for a 3rd week of vacation and an 8 week maternity leave, with 2-4 weeks part time after that. The hiring person emailed me back to offer a 3rd week vacation after the first year and said that the position fell under FMLA (which is incorrect, it's less than 50 people and I will have not been there a year), so my offer to only take 8 weeks would be well received. She said she'd advocate on my behalf, and if I agreed to those terms they want to hire me. I said I'm in! I think she has to go back to the org's board to verify, but HOLY SHIT!!!!!
Where do I buy a lotto ticket?
-----
One more update: the hiring person is going back to the board early Monday to get approval of the revised offer. So I should have things finalized by Monday at 10am. She was going to advocate on my behalf since she felt my proposed terms were appropriate. We'll see!
It's a little awkward since H and I are having dinner with one of the board members tonight.
Sending you all of my job dust... because my background check cleared and I got the final offer for my job this morning. So I no longer need my job dust...

Did you resign yet?? Did I miss the big reveal when you tell BL?
I submitted my formal letter of resignation last Tuesday. I'm done on October 15! It was anticlimactic; BL was BIZARRELY excited for us/ me. What the hell, lady. She'll also be out of the office my last week.
I'm saving all of my good stuff for my exit interview and for a community meeting that I'm participating in after my last day.
SOOOOO glad you're doing a post for your job hunt. Did you end up going there for an in-person interview?
I did! The travel was insane. Flew out late Saturday night (arrived at Midnight), recovered/ studied on Sunday, interview lasted 25 minutes on Monday, flew home. 17 hours of travel time for a 25 minute interview...
It seems like it needs to happen. Everything else has finally gone great (Mr. ILL's job, home sale, etc.) and this job should just fall in line. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get great news soon.

That just seems insane to me for a 25 minute interview. But it is sounding like it was worth it.

Wow. That's very impressive! Especially since you're pregnant! I'm rooting for you!
No phone call/ email job offer by the end of the day today. It's funny. I'm very "meh" about it. So much has worked out in the recent past that o feel like if this works, great; if not, it didn't happen for some reason that the universe will shortly reveal.
