Trade houses with one of your neighbors. Then when she shows up next week they can be like "farmer who? Oh, she doesn't live here. You must have the wrong house. Are you sure it was this house?"
It's 3 hours later and she's still here guys. I just added $30 to her check and gave it to her in the kitchen and she thanked me so so much. I know she needs this job (she sends money home to her family in Mexico).
I am the big douche here but I hope she appreciates the extra money and I hope I don't make her feel too bad. =(
Everyone is happy slow cleaning wouldnt bother me. Im more likely to complain they were here too short of a time. I would worry next time she will rush and do a bad job.

I have no idea how big your house is, but I would bet it's bigger than my apartment. Our cleaning lady is usually here for about five hours when she comes (9-2ish). Yours doesn't seem excessively slow.

Oh that's so awkward!! Sounds like you handled it well. How big is your house? I was told my 1700sf would take at least 4 hours. I can clean it in 2-2 1/2 so I'm trying to hold judgement until I see how clean it is. I assume at least she continued to be detailed?

This is where I own it. Blame the baby and being uber tired. I love my housekeeper, but when she comes alone, she is here for what seems like eternity, and I am used to having my space. More money is good, but apologize and just say you are not used to being home when she comes (if that is the case) and you felt awkward being in the house, but YOU LOVE HER. Only if you do, of course.
My cleaning lady likes to use me as free therapy. Nice lady, but she started in on the TMI family problems like the second time I met her. It's not an issue now that I'm back to work, but I used to get stuck talking to her for ages! And now I feel too guilty to let her go ( she's started to cut corners) because I know all her unfortunate family issues, and there are a lot.
