Thankfully I just got done doing a little baking (brownie chocolate chip cookie cups anyone?) since I am giving a go at putting M down for her nap without the binky today. I figured I would start cold turkey with naps and then once that was in the clear move on to bedtime. She is currently talking to herself and her teddy bear or maybe she is singing?? Either way 15 minutes in and she isn't sleeping yet..
Thanks ladies! She is actually sleeping now. My biggest fear is taking it away and having her in return just start sucking her thumb which is something we definitely don't want. But I think we might be ok for now, bedtime is what I'm worried about the most though!

Good luck. One of my facebook friends recently did this and what she did is cut the sucky part off the binky and handed it to her son when he asked for it. He chewed on it for a while and handed it back never to ask for the bink again. So if cold turkey doesn't work you could give that a try?

Oh, that's a good idea! I might have to give that a go if this doesn't work. Thank you!

Talking/singing is normal in our house, even with the binky. LOL She regularly takes the binky out and puts it back in - I don't think she's dependent on it by any means. But it does help her to know that it's sleepy time if I give it to her.
Anyway - yes, it's positive that she's not screaming for it. Maybe she just needs to have some alone time and she'll pass out.
