So, we bought a new house and are in the process of losing our current home. The agent wants us to pain the inside, I am really reluctant to spend the time/money doing it of it wont make a huge difference. She wants the entire place in earth tones. This is our current living room color scheme. Is it too much? I am already painting the master bath as it is a burgundy color, and the other rooms are a forest-greenish color (office) and Variations on grey. What color would you go?
I'd leave it, and see what kind of feedback you get. If you get feedback from buyers that the paint colors put them off, then maybe reconsider painting and taking new pictures at that time.
I'd leave it, unless you're in a super competitive market. I do think repainting the burgundy bathroom is the right choice, but tan and blue is not that bold.

See... I want to leave it as well, my husband is very reasonable "we have two mortgages now... blah blah" I think we should give it a month and then go from there. If I paint the blue walls the same tan color it will be really blah (and dark) so I really am arguing!

If A buyer loves your house a blue wall won't deter them. That's my reasoning.
Yeah I would wait and see what kind of feedback you got from the market before spending the time or money to paint it. It is not extremely bright or polarizing so I think a lot of people will like it just fine.
You should have seen the paint colors in our house when we bought it! Not cute. One bedroom is still screaming teal, one is screaming yellow, and the master bathroom is finally being changed from neon orange.
I really wouldn't spend the money on this, especially with the blue you have.

Does it need to be repainted? I think it is a pretty nice color, but I can see why the realtor would not like the two tone color scheme. We repainted and staged professionally our entire house when we sold it. It sold in 24 hours with 3 over ask offers. It looked terrific, but we lived there for 10 years, with 2 kids, so it needed it.
It also matters what else is on the market and the price range. If everything else is in similar condition, no problem, but if "everyone is doing it" and/or buyers pay a premium for it, then it is worth it. I think it cost us around $3500 to paint, including the kitchen cabinets, and we got at least 3X for just that one thing, not to mention a very quick sale. List to close in 21 days. It also made the whole place smell and look new.

In this day and age, people tend to be smarter than they seemed w/r/t paint.
We listed and sold our house with a lot of non-neutral colors (similar blue to that, light green, light blue) and it was never an issue. The person painted it colors they wanted anyway.
And we moved into a house that was 100% off-white and I hate it. I would have rather had color!! So I say leave that.

I would consider putting the money towards staging instead of painting unless it really needs it. There is a chance a buyer will want to repaint no matter what color you choose.

Another vote for leave it. Our realtor brought in a stager and I was fully expecting her to tell us to paint a couple rooms more neutral. She didn't. That blue isn't crazy so I would leave it.
The only thing that deters me when looking at houses is wallpaper and really incredibly bold paint that's going to be a pita to paint over. I think your place looks fine but it really depends on your market.
I would paint it just because the dark blue tends to make a room look smaller and darker and that is not what you are going for when you list a house.
I agree. I would paint it a light neutral (probably greige, as gray seems to be the neutral of choice these days, but I think your floors are too warm for a true/cool gray). While many/most buyers plan to repaint anyway, I think lighter walls will make the whole house read as light, airy, and open. Even buyers who plan to repaint and think they aren't influenced by current paint colors will still prefer a house that feels light and airy.
I think Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan would be a good choice.
I absolutely hated our last house when we bought it because it was super white. We painted every room but one bathroom, and the people who bought our house loved the colors we had. Our kitchen was even orange.
Buyers will repaint if they want to, I wouldn't worry about it.
I'd probably wait for feedback from buyers. I think it makes sense to paint the repaint the burgundy and the green with more neutral shades, but I would leave the blue unless you get negative feedback about it.
We recently did a lot of house-hunting, and we were put off by outdated and bold paint colors that we knew we would want to repaint. We wanted (and needed) "move-in ready" so repainting would have been a huge PITA.
