Relevant pregnancy/baby information: I am 40w1d today Baby's head is down but very high and I am only 1cm (for the past 2.5 weeks now). Fluids are fine, baby is measuring ~8.5lb I went to 41w3d with DD1 Obviously anything could happen and I could deliver at any time I don't know when my doctor would induce me - I have an appt on Tuesday (41w) but they typically go to 41w3 or 41w4 before they induce if they need to
Relevant work information: I am basically wrapped up at work but am attending ~1 meeting per day. If I am not at that meeting I am covered and someone can take over for me. Because of this, days are easy - I have been sleeping in a little, spending a little time with DD in the morning, taking longer lunches to run errands or relax, leaving a little early. No one really cares. My manager mentioned "working" next week and saving my time for once the baby is here. I would still attend the ~1 meeting/day and check emails, be available as needed, sit at my computer for a few hours each in the morning and afternoon (and still send DD to daycare) I work from home and only work Monday - Thursday I have 16 weeks but am considering asking for longer when I meet with my VP tomorrow. I can always come back earlier than expected but would prefer not to ask for more time once I'm already out I technically have 14 weeks paid - 12w for mat leave plus 2 weeks (x4 days) of vacation saved. We will not have to pull from savings for the additional time (we would just save less)
Other things to consider: Daycare is closed Monday - if I am at the hospital or working my mom can take DD. If I stop working and am around I can hang with her The weather is going to be in the mid-60s and cloudy but probably not rainy all next week I could use a pedicure and potentially make some freezer meals but am a little worried about being bored otherwise I would love to pull DD from daycare and do something fun but she loves it there and I am worried about overexerting myself so that seems stupid. I love money!! So working the extra week while doing not much is appealing
I realize this is a total FWP. Also I'm hoping that by posting this my water will burst and make the decision for me. Also, the Patriots have a bye this week so tomorrow would be a nice day to have a child. LOL.
Seriously. 16 weeks gives you enough of a cushion to go home and rest and catch up on stuff until you go into labor. My OB doesn't want anyone working past their EDD anyway.
I worked almost to the end - B was born at 41 weeks, 4 days, I worked until 41 weeks (it was a Thursday, I had an NST on Friday and just didn't go back to work, went into labor on Monday). I wish I had left earlier - those last days, being overdue, ugh. I couldn't handle another, "Haven't you had that baby yet?!"
I worked right up until I had the baby 6 days overdue. I was actually sending emails to my boss to hand everything over in between contractions lol. It worked for me because I worked from home the last few weeks, and it helped get my mind off of wanting the baby out ASAP.
You are basically me. Except "today" was 40w exactly. I made Friday of that week my last day and then ended up having DS the following Tuesday. It was nice to have the 3 days knowing I was DONE with work for a couple months.
I'd work until you are induced or baby comes. You aren't doing much anyways so why not get paid?
But I took 6 mos of maternity leave and the vast majority was unpaid so I worked until I delivered both times so as to save any leave for after the baby/ies.

I'm a few weeks behind you, so who knows how I feel at 40 weeks, but right now my plan is to work until I get induced or baby comes. I have similar flexibility and the option to WAH, so I just want to keep the money coming in. Plus I feel like I'd get bored pretty quickly.
Since you WFH & work is light, I'd probably continue to work. Take the full day of your appt off, get a pedicure, and pick DD up early from daycare and get ice cream together.
It doesn't sound like working is making you miserable, so I would just KOKO and maximize money and time off post-baby. I always worked until the baby was more or less exiting my vagina for that reason.
But if working is uncomfortable or you feel like you really need some time to rest up and get stuff done, by all means, make tomorrow your last day.
I keep working, since it sounds like it's on the east side. I mostly worked from home (withnlittle expectednof me) the last few weeks and it was a great in between.
Personally, I stopped working at 39 weeks. I was so ready to be done. I really enjoyed my last week, went into labor at 40w1days. But I also had a long drive and a crappy job that I hated. If I had your situation, I'd probably work through next week since you are home and sounds like the work load is pretty easy.
