Okay, I'm not really going to sell him. Right now he's sitting in his chair "reading" his books and it's so stinking cute. He always chatters along while he turns the pages but now he's saying some of the actual words. Like we have one book that goes, "Love my mommy, yes I do. Where's my mommy wish I knew. There's my mommy, peekaboo. Hello mommy, I see you" and repeats with different family members. He's going "there mama, peek" "there dada, peek", "there grandma, peek". So cute!
About to head to the store to get the hurricane supplies just in case. I don't think our house will flood, but I could see us being without power. The local fb group I'm on has people freaking out, so I expect the store to be an interesting experience.
estrellita, E has been in love with his elephant wubbanub lately. I'll pop it in his mouth, and he'll play with it (as much as a 2 month old with little hand control can). His lamb, meh. I would love it if this could turn into his lovey. I've already saved the amazon listing to buy a couple more in case it really does become his favorite.
I am debating on going to the store. I do.not.want to with a 2 week old, but we need things. We live on the edge of the Hurricane forecast. It may or may not get here, (I live near Philly) I can guarantee people here are going to lose their minds and it's going to be a mess. Ugh.
For the first day in 2 weeks I am relaxed and feeling almost human. I am sure a shower will get me to 90%. I decided to give up on BFing. It was stressing both of us out. Now I can pump and look into his gorgeous eyes when he eats. It's a huge weight lifted. I should feel guilty, but I don't. DH wants to take some MOTN Feedings too, bless him. It works better for our family and I am happy.
I caught H reading a story to DS in the nursery last night. It was the cutest thing. One of those memories that I am going to need when I want to ring DH's neck. Lol.
pooh8402 My E has the dino one but I think he'd like any of them they are so cute! Totally worth the cost to not get up in the middle of the night just to give him the paci!
pennylane - you have reminded me that I should probably hit the grocery store too. Storm isn't supposed to be here until Sunday but no chance am I going to the store on a weekend.
I'm going to start counting calories today. Breastfeeding has not been the magical weight loss solution that I had hoped it would be. It's more like the opposite because I use the "I'm breastfeeding" excuse to eat everything under the sun. I'd like to wear something besides stretchy pants.

Word. I go back to work next week, so I'll see what that does since it will be a dramatic increase in my physical activity. But I know that I have got to start eating better.
Also - thanks to everyone for their suggestions when I posted about DS peeing through his diapers every night. I have ordered the diaper inserts from Amazon. We also switched that night from pampers overnights to huggies overnights. The huggies seem to hold much more - in 3 nights he hasn't been drenched in pee at all, just one little leak!

I have so much to do at work today and no motivation.
Ds is still going strong with using the potty during the day but he soaked through his overnight diaper even thought I put him on the potty right before bed. I'm sick of pee laundry.
I went on my weekly girl's night last night and we did the late night happy hour at Applebee's and topped off the night buying diapers and laundry detergent at Walmart. My, how my life has changed  Party animals, over here. Also, totally random, but I bought DD a bunch of tops and a few pairs of leggings from Walmart last night (Garanimals brand) and they are super cute for the price.
Garanimals gets no love here, but the stuff is soft and washes well. I also liked Faded Glory sleep n plays. It's all imported from the same places as the high end brands.

This whole rolling over thing in the middle of the night is driving me nuts. It went on all night, she kept fussing and going back to sleep, eventually I gave in, woke up and fed her and put her back down. She rolled on her stomach and started whining as soon as I put her back in the crib. Fun times.
My parents close on my childhood home next week, and are moving this weekend. They've lived in that house for 33 years, and I'm gonna be a mess when I say "good-bye" to it this weekend.
However, they will now be only 15 minutes away instead of an hour! So much free babysitting!
My kids both slept through the night. <3 <3 I can still probably count on my fingers the number of times that has happened since they were born 19 months ago. Ah, sleep my long lost friend.
As I was leaving daycare this morning I said "I love you" to my babies and Squeaky said "luv-oo" back. Aaaww, melty heart.
Having a grand debate about study abroad opportunity in South America for 2 weeks in January. I would have jumped on this so fast before kids... but now I don't know whether being away from them for 2 weeks is worth it....

I am still bummed that they stop making their clothes after size 5T. Older boy clothes are so ugly. DS lived in Garanimals separates when he was a toddler. They held up really well and people complimented his clothes all the time.
I SUCK so much doing bear crawls and I am so slow and got left behind. I have been working on it for weeks but I just don't seem to have enough coordination and strength. #FWP

I am so freaking annoyed with H's job (and he is too). He doesn't get any paid time off and unpaid isn't an option for us. He is taking this week vacation and going back to work next week. We have been home from the hospital for like 2 days and he has had to work a half day (from home) both days. Wtf. He is home to help out with the toddler and he is trying to do that and juggle work/emails/phone calls/texts... even after work hours. At least he can bill for the time and not use vacation hours, but he should be able to be home uninterrupted! He says the people on the project are morons and just don't know how to do the stuff he was doing. He is at least going to use this as an excuse to take half days or some extra time next week, and ask for a raise. If they can't function without him for one week of vacation then they need to pay him more..

I agree! Especially if your mom's willing to come out and help.

Ha. I should have known with that description that people would say do it. But there's a lot of reasons not to (as well as all the obvious ones to do it). Probably the biggest one is that it would be the end of breastfeeding, which makes me sad. But also airfare is expensive and being alone for 2 weeks would be really rough on my wife.
EDIT: oh yeah, also I'd have to make up 6 days of internship which means giving up 6 Fridays. And I'd have to convince my internship to even let me go....
