I was prepared to start a thread this afternoon asking when to give up trying to use a gym daycare. I've tried leaving DD there so many times, only to have the daycare people come get me after 30 minutes of nonstop crying. The screaming starts as soon as she sees the door for the daycare and just doesn't stop.
But today she made it all the way through my hour long class! She apparently cried for 15 minutes or so, then calmed right down and played happily the rest of the time. I'm so excited!
Of course, she is now in her crib, refusing to nap. You win some, you lose some.
We have a DCP for next Sept!! We interviewed 2 and went with our gut...13 years experience (as opposed to 6 months), more expensive but closer to home (like a 90 second drive), teacher friendly, decent hours (7:30-5, the 5 will be tight and we might need to figure something out the first Monday of ever month because all schools have staff meetings that afternoon, I have to be there to run ours and DH has to attend his), and she is guaranteeing our spot. I checked a reference last night and she said wonderful things. I am really happy this is off my to-do list.

Bedtime scene last night:
DS: Mommy, you're not creative. DD: No, she's not. But she's SMART! DS: Mommy is smart. Me: DD is smart! And DS is smart! DS: But not Daddy. DD: Yeah, Daddy isn't smart. Me: Why isn't Daddy smart? DD: Because he doesn't have hair! DS: That's it! Mommy has lots of hair and is smart. Daddy has no hair! She should give some to him!
Well, msniq is not pregnant. Which means that we are in the "will be hugely pregnant in the dead of summer" window after 6-ish months of trying. blerg. Just gonna post this here for myself:
Because others have posted childcare updates, I need to update yall.
So I placed an ad on care.com, and like our 2nd or 3rd applicant is pretty much perfect. Older lady in her 50s, 2 grown children, TONS of childcare experience (mother ran a daycare, and she has spent her entire career in childcare herself). She doesn't *have* to work, just likes to spend one on one time with kids, and is taking the job to help her daughter with school expenses, so her rate is low. Wanted a flexible schedule, so is more than willing to work with me and DH. And she's just so nice. Excellent references.
She was the first person we interviewed and no one else compared. She turned down another job to work with us. We're signing papers tomorrow and she starts next week! She has already interacted with E with me home with them, and E seems to like her too.

Sorry niq. I have a lot of feeling about the fact that if life were perfect, I'd be pregnant right now but alas, it will probably be at least another year before that happens.

I forgot to AW here yesterday that dd got herself up from nap and took herself to poop on the potty for the first time! (Like she's popped for us once, never at daycare).
Too bad she was a total shit (lol) the rest of the day so I didn't feel like I could properly celebrate that success. Fingers crossed she earns a star on her behavior chart today!
AW: we finally hired a housecleaner! She's coming on Tuesday. I really hope it works out and we can make it a regular thing. DH is going to be away all week so I need the help.

On the same note, I found a new house cleaner today. I have been getting increasing annoyed with our one. She charges $80 a pop for our house but the same for a friend with a house twice the size. And today she was only here for 1.,5hrs! She could have stayed and did extras like inside the fridge or whatever but she didn't and I'm annoyed.
Anyway, a friend highly recommended her cleaner. $15 an hour! So cheap that we can switch from biweekly to weekly and still save money!!

Oh I am jealous! We pay $60/visit for 2 people that clean for about 90 minutes.
Ugh I give up. Even with the Symphony I just have the worst friggen output today. I'm bummed. Pumping sucks. I really need to get my flu shot so I can at least pass those immunities to Ethan and then maybe I'll just quit.
