Just wondering if anyone here can think of something I can do to solve this...
Our Britax B-Safe 35 car seat 'locked' into one of the receivers on the B-Agile stroller the first time we used it. DH and I could not separate the two and so now the receiver is permanently attached to the car seat. It doesn't impede the functionality in the car, but we can't put the car seat and the stroller together anymore since it took like 45 minutes to get them apart the first time.
I contacted BabiesRUs who directed us to Britax. Britax immediately sent us a new car seat (to Canada) from their US distributor and it arrived in 6 business days. Great.
However, they forgot to send the receivers. So I called to remind them. They told me 3 - 5 business days. It's been 2 weeks so I called them to check on the order scared it was stuck in customs somewhere. It's not. They haven't shipped it since they have no receivers in stock. It will be at least 2 - 5 weeks until they come in, hopefully, and then another week to ship them to me.
My baby is now 5 weeks old and has used her damn stroller once. I've tried belting her in the stroller alone but she's pretty slim and it is not at all supportive for her size (still less than 10 lbs). With the straps at the tightest setting she goes all lopsided if I don't lay her all the way flat and she doesn't like that and I don't like that I can't see her. I've been taking her for walks in her carrier but she gets fussy after half an hour since she is right there at my boobs and she wants to nurse. I would prefer to use walks to extend her happy time between nursing sessions so this isn't ideal.
I am furious at Britax for not telling me about the backorder and I am also super pissed since when I ordered the travel system it arrived at my office on the SAME business day. Which means BabiesRUs has a warehouse in town with a stack of these things sitting there waiting to go. But no, I couldn't do an exchange. I have to wait on stupid warranty services which do not have the parts.
At this rate my baby is going to be 12 weeks old before I get to use the damn stroller (if I'm lucky). I don't have the money to buy something else. This was our big gift from MIL and she is also pissed that it isn't working. The main way I would also like to use it is to visit GFIL who lives in a care centre complex and is a looooong walk from the front entrance. Visiting him the first time is how it broke! Now we haven't been able to go since.
I would have to buy an entire travel system to get the parts which would put a $560 + shipping hole in my monthly budget right now. I don't know if I can guarantee the parts will arrive within the 45 day return window at BRU. Amazon isn't an option since it isn't available on their list in Canada.
Yeah. We would lose $60 on shipping outright if we were to do that.
This is not ok. I would be raising hell. Call back and ask for a manager. If they don't help then ask for their manager. Britax is supposed to be known for their superior customer service. I'm really sorry.
Once you finally speak with someone that can get them to you ASAP I would request that they are shipped next day air. You should not be waiting weeks to use your stroller.

To date it has been anything but stunning.
First off she spent 10 minutes trying to find my order and couldn't find it. She hadn't asked me if I was in Canada or the US and was looking through the US database.
She then spent 5 minutes emphasizing how many people also had back-ordered parts and had not received them. Great. So that doesn't help me feel any better since I am now at the bottom of some unknowable list and why wasn't this mentioned 2 weeks ago? I expressed myself fairly eloquently.
Actually I am going to call back to speak to a manager. This is ridiculous and this piece of equipment cost far too much to be unable to use it in all of September and October which are pretty much the only damn months where I can use it and would use it with the infant car seat.
They actually suggested I contact BabiesRUs to ask them to break up a new set to get me the piece.
That was the manager's suggestion.
I just contacted BRU and the customer service agent is actually amenable to this solution. She told me to go to the store and gave me a reference number for approval.
If BRU and the person upthread end up not working out I can send you our receivers. I just sold my B-Agile and forgot about them when I did so I have a set lying around.
